I just saw this, Id be interested in knowing where to shoot around Hollister! It is nice how far out the range goes! I must say, I was skeptical about shooting today at cow mountain after getting to the range. No tweakers but not the safest of people..many crossed over lines of fire , didnt yell out "down range" when walking out to post up new targets, etc, etc. Plus, it's far drive from San Bruno! There's also way better trails out at Hollister!

Im in for some shooting anytime!

I don't get why you'd want to hide something that you should be proud of. After all that work, show it off. Now its more of a real man's 4WD :D

Haha I would if it didn't look so goofy with no center caps. When I finally get some F-5's I will uncover them.

My buddies dad has an 88 4Runner 22r with 220,000 on it. Original owner. Been telling him for years to lmk before he sells it. Needs a new head gasket/rebuild. Someone please take it before he gives it to the state for $1000.

Did a little bit of work this weekend too. Relocated power steering reservoir and mounted a battery tray

Nice! What size battery you gonna go with? I've thought about doing a dual.

Is that a kit or are you making it yourself? I want to put a battery in the same spot.

UCA's have nothing to do with it they will work just fine. If they were bigger coilovers say for long travel you would but they appear to be stock replacement.

Ext travel allow for an extra inch of droop. with this added droop, the factory UCA (with how wide it is) hits the coils. Tubular and Aftermarket UCA's designed to correct alignment @3" also pull the spindle out away from the coils a bit more, allowing clearance when an ext travel coilover is installed. Simply: It allows for the clearance with added droop.

If you look at the factory UCA's you can see how flat they are and wide, the inside is almost always dinged up from contact with the coils on most lifted trucks. Which is why people complain of 'clunk' noises when going over speed bumps and the suspension droops suddenly.

I have a yellow top (35) as my main battery right now. Moving over to the new tray and putting a red top (also 35) as my main

Just made it myself. That was the only spot I had under the hood. I had to buy longer hoses to relocate the power steering reservoir.

No worries, I haven't heard of any real problems with it, just the clearance and correct caster at a full 3" lift. Just be careful hitting bumps where the down travel could max out, a few hits won't hurt but over time you could damage a spring, though I've never heard of it actually happening. You could always just go the cheaper route and put some limit straps in. Much cheaper than buying new UCA's.
