2012 Offroad Transfer Case skid plate PT# ??

Hi Guys, looked everywhere.

I need a light duty transfer case skid plate, so I figure that an TRD Offroad model will do. I mostly bounce across farmers fields and down logging/access roads.

Anyone have the TRD Offroad Part # or a reasonably priced alternative?

I still would like the Toyota TRD Offroad part # without having to spend an hour on and off the phone with a clueless Canadian Toyota parts clerk.

I only need something to deflect tall grass and short shrubs in my fields and forested wetland. The only rocks here are perfectly flat limestone alvars, or perfectly vertical limestone bluffs or rock cuts that you can't climb.

 

You'll want 1ct. 3617904020 and 4ct. 9008011251.

I just removed mine in favor of an All-Pro plate that also protects the exhaust crossover.

 

Okay. Agreed that it isn't very tough, but Toyota sees fit to describe part number 3617904020 as "PROTECTOR, TRANSFER CASE LOWER". OP specified Transfer Case when he posted.

 

Well, to each his own. He might even already have it on his truck.

From what I have been told here, and to achieve the same protection as the factory shield, I could just hammer one out from a galvanized garbage can lid, bend it here and there, and then drill some mounting holes.

Sounds easy enough..... time consuming, but cheap !

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, spend $400 to $500 bucks on an aftermarket piece that would be used simply to plow through shrubs and scrub grass.

But then, I could by a used factory piece for cheap too!

Hmmmmmmm......
