Brand new on the forum :)

Alright so ive actually been searching for quite awhile ( before I created an account) and I havent been able to find a clear answer

Im planning on buying a TRD double cab, 4x4. theres a 2008 and also a few 2011's that are interesting right now. Looking at future plans, I would probably like a 1.75-2.5' lift, bilstein most likely. Also would probably add 265/70R17.

Question is, how much of an actual effect will it have on daily driving, and also offroad, with stock gears? I think highway and around town should be good to go, but lets say theres some steeper hills offroad, will it be REALLY bad? ( I know MPG difference will be minimal)

And finally, from reading alot, I see that that tire size with that lift seems to be good to go without needing spacers, new UCA or any cutting...confirm on this?

    Thanks guys :)

You shouldn't have any worries at all with stock gears. Some still run stockers on 35s. You will not notice any difference, and minimal.. and I mean minimal if you do. I have zero lift paired with this size tire right now. No rubs. No UCAs. Not shit.

I have pretty much everything you listed. You will be perfectly fine with the stock 3:73 gears. I'd stay with a LT or a P tire if you don't want to hurt your mpg. I went with a 10 ply m/t and lost about 2 mpg. As far as upper control arms if you went with 2.5 inches of lift an aftermarket set would only help. You would be doing good to get 1.0 of caster.

sweet, thanks for the response! yea definitely an LT or P tire for sure, dont think I need anything higher. Yea would be helping with the UCA but its more $ too, for something not necessarily needed right?

Welcome! I have to give you a thumbs up for looking through the threads regarding lifts/tires instead of starting a new thread like so many other people.

As others have said, you won't have any issues with 32"s. I'm running 265/75-16 and have no problem with hills or rock crawling.

If you do end up getting an off-road, go ahead and do the locker anytime mod for dummies. Best 5 bucks spent!
