$460/shipped. That was 18 months ago and looking at the site they are still the same price.

If TRDParts can get them for $420 then that seems like a good deal.

 

And to be honest I didn't mind paying that much for piece of mind regarding hydrolocking.

After I chopped my fenders I had a completely exposed intake and that didn't make me feel comfortable so I needed to make a move.

 

ic. How long did it take you install it?

 

2 hours

 

2-3 hours or so with beer. Its super easy but measuring to cut the hole needs to be accurate so I verified like 10 times prior to going for it And it wasn't because I was tentative about drilling into it, I just wanted to make sure all the holes were aligned because if not it would suck!

 

Probably about the same. I didnt recheck my marks though, just went for it after you get it drilled out though i suggest removing the fender with antenna attached (since its damn near impossible to get the bezel out) then you can reach to put all the nuts on without issue.

Also, the bolts supplied for the a pillar mount didn't work for me, so used some that i had laying around which i think ill switch out to self-tapping screws probably (the mount is somewhat loose now) plus im gonna shove some silicone in the holes to seal it from water.

 

And one last thing. I did loctite all the thread rods into the snorkel females about three days out in preparation so they had plenty of time to dry.

 

I had an issue with the mount too. The bracket didn't fit quite right so the screws worked their way out so now I'm not running one at all. Eric was kind enough to fab up a new, longer and more bent style bracket that will work great but I've yet to install it. I'm just running around with holes in my pillar for now

 

Loctite, yes but I didn't put the a pillar mount on it doesn't vibrate enough to make me shit my pants

 

Agreed, if I could do it over again I would have listened to Spoon and never installed it at all. Now I feel like I need to do something with the holes.

 

so the pillar bracket doesn't really work from what i gathering??

 

It can work I've just found its not necessary and it gets f'n windy where I live.

 

Guess i could do that as well. Holes plus a scratch through the paint from it wiggling isnt too bad.

 

I don't have the pillar bracket and when I made the trip to Santa Fe then to Colorado up Pikes Peak it never seemed unstable

 

I've let the love go for too long and I need to do some things to the ride. Making a list is always fun

• Wash exterior and clean interior (its literally been 4 months since any cleaning has happened to any extent)
• Install flyzeye I've sat on this great piece of equipment for almost 14 months which is lame
• Remove rust and repaint sliders
• Install vinyl flooring, oh hell yeah!
• Change oil
• Rotate tires
• Spark plugs
• Grease driveshaft
• Get an alignment
• Diagnose and try to fix dash rattle
• Glue rear window rubber molding back in place

 

Yup that was the one!
really do like the truck man can't wait to get out of the Marines and head back home so i have a little more focus time on my 'build'
