Your truck is a 2012, too late, already seized. :p

Lol, with a lifetime alignment, pull 'em and give a coating and get another alignment. Mark your cams so you can at least get them close when you re-assemble.

3 of the 4 on mine are seized. I imagine the 4th is seized by now.

4:05 shows the cam assembly. The bolt usually rotates fine, it's the sleeve (outer surface as well as inner) that he shows that needs anti seize.

I think you have to pull the lca off to get at these but I'm not sure. Maybe it's the sleeves that need removed in order to get the lca off. I've never done one myself. :notsure: I always hear that when they are seized, the Sawzall comes into play to remove them.

it wasnt a question... it was a statement.

eric, take the bolt out. then tap the cam out. antiseize the shit out of the cam. reinsert it. antiseize the bolts, reinsert. done, move onto the next one then have them align it.

From Mountain States Toyota to me...

I wanted to give a quick status on your Tacoma. Based on what I know right now, we still are messing with this. At this point, it does not seem like your issue is fuel related, we have tried to run the vehicle on fresh gas in efforts to try and see if that would have any effect, and we have checked fuel pressure, which indicates that the fuel pump is working completely normally right now. We also have tried to make sure that the injectors were operating properly, and it appears that they are, so it doesn’t appear to be a fueling issue. We have been through most everything spark related, so I don’t believe it to be a spark issue either. What we are wondering now, is if there is something that may be causing a compression issue under certain circumstances. We are going to be running compression, as well as most likely leakdown testing on the engine here shortly in order to determine if there is an issue that may be related in that way.

I apologize that I don’t have more information at this point, but I wanted to keep you advised as to where we are. I will let you know as soon as I hear more.

Progress is a slow process. The fact that they have done that nd are doing more men's they acknowledge an issue. Hope they get it figured out

And this is why I'm looking forward to bringing my taco to Jace to have the alignment done. Plus I think he's going to have a good time test driving it. :D

    damn straight.

sounds like they are making headway. ruling out the obvious things first. im wondering if you have a mechanical problem, burnt valves, bad rings plugged exhaust. something like that. although it is very odd with a newer truck to have these problems. you said it ran like a top when u bough it used?
