    Very true about the bolt on HREW sliders. I ordered bolt on sliders last week that I only have to drill 1 hole for. All tough my truck is a 2015 with 1200 miles on it and don't need to weld to the frame yet.

    Someone in the SOS Concepts thread showed a pic of their entire truck being held up by jacks on the sliders. Not sure if I'm going to do that "test", but I figure they'll be plenty strong for what I have in mind. Not planning on going crazy wheeling this truck, but want to be able to find some roads/trails less traveled in search of photography opportunities. There were plenty of roads (or what was once a road) that I didn't venture down in the old GMC for its lack of 4wd and general lack of ground clearance. The Sliders and everything else is for that "oh shit" moment that may or may not happen - I just want to be able to say "what the hell" when I see a trail that I wouldn't have dared in the old truck.

    Bolt on sliders are just as strong as weld ons if built right.

    So tried to go out and get some shots of the truck with the new wheels, but got chased around town by a rain shower instead. By the time it cleared out the sun was gone, but still managed one decent shot.

    There's a fair bit of editing on that shot to bring out the details. If I had a couple grand to spend on lighting and a crew to work / hold / etc all the gear I could do more in camera and less on the editing side. Mostly though, brought up the shadows, covered some blown highlights in the sky, corrected white balance the best I could (late evening light plus parking lot lights made for some funky blue tints), pumped in some dynamic contrast to make things pop, lens distortion correction, sharpened, exported. Not necessarily in that order.

    Well then of course not. Running boards aren't sliders nor meant to be used as em.
