TRD Pro & TX Baja OFFICIAL Thread...

Do you have anything else in the front other than the TRD shocks/springs? I've been looking at the Icon AAL. In most situations the rear end looks a little low to me. Add even a little weight in the back and the squat is pretty dramatic. I was worried that the AAL would bring the rear up way too high without doing something in the front. But the pics in your build thread look pretty damn good. I hate the idea of spacers. Seems janky.

MPG hit from tire size increase?

 

Dunno yet. Haven't even finished the tank it was on when they got switched. I'll try to remember to record the mileage the next time I fill up. I gotta say it's funny how people on here even bother to talk about mileage in a truck that's lucky to hit 20. My chief complaint isn't the mileage but the size of the tank. If it had a ~25 gallon tank that would be perfect.

Anyway I went with the Nittos because they're available in D load rating vs the KO2s which are only available in E.

 

Did you install these yourself? I have been contemplating these vs the nfab bars.

 

That would actually be counter productive. More weight from the larger tank and increased fuel would cause less mpg's than with it's current tank size and capacity. Just saying.

 

Yeah but my concern is range. Out here in the wild west you can get into areas with very long distances between gas stations.

 

20.5 on my last tank and I used 19 gallons so I went longer than normal. Maybe we have more oxygen in the air in Texas but I doubt it. I think it is driving habits more than anything. I get 20.5 to 21.5 on the metroplex hwys.. My average speed is 65. These trucks, much like others, really drop off at 75 - 80.

 

How's the ride in the TRD PRO compared to the Sport? I had a 2011 TRD Sport and loved how it rode. Considering a 2015 TRD PRO or may go with another Sport. I'd go test drive one but theres none at any local dealers.

 

Down in Texas it's more flat so you're gonna get better mpg's. Up here in the northeast (especially in Pittsburgh) there's not much flat ground. In Pittsburgh it's all hills and windy roads.

They sale long range fuel tanks for the Tacoma that take the place of the stock tanks but it hangs down too low for my liking.

 

I saw no diff on my 2009 Prerunner when I went to 265/75 Dutatracs. You have to remember to adjust for larger diameter.

I'd re-check that statement. Baja and Pro suspension is not exactly the same. Pro has resie's up front and rear, Baja just in rear not front.

 

I added a Wheeler's HD progressive AAL to my Baja to add some rake and also some load capacity. Went camping last year (without AAL) and the rear end sagged like the tits on a 100 year old hooker with 10 kids.

Ride is nice, in fact, can't really tell the difference.

 

Pro doesn't have reservoirs in front.

 

My bad, was it just the Tundra that got reservoirs up front then?

A little disappointing on the Pro as I thought it was a suspension upgrade over the Baja...

 

Pretty much the Sports trim (color matched) on the Baja and then some. I've read on here that the Pro's springs are softer than the Baja's.

 

Yep....only the Tundra Pro got front remote res shocks...The Taco Pro and Baja have the same rear springs and maybe the same shocks. The fronts on the Pro use softer springs than the Baja...some articles also stated that the Pro shocks were all re-valved to improve the ride. So basically the Baja Suspension re-worked is what is on the Pro Taco.
