My dash rattled or chattered on sections of road that introduced vibration to the truck like driving over a washboard.

I found putting a little pressure on the dash at the defrost vents reduced it or even made it disappear. The trouble area seems to be the venting to the defrost register. I've attempted putting foam to stabilize this area but it didn't work. I also used foam wedges between the windshield and vents. It worked somewhat but would get dislodged.

The foam I used is a closed cell foam like what a noodle float is made. Mine came from packing and was conveniently black.

My last solution, and I haven't noticed the rattle, I cut the foam into small enough pieces that I could compress and insert in the void between the windshield and dash. I used several along the affected area.

    Thought I'd pass it along.

I do a similar thing to you except I use a rubber hose the entire length of the windshield. Going on a year now and no rattle

I tore the top off an empty pack of smokes and folded it up and jammed it in there.... no need to spend money

I used 1/8" vacuum line, $0.88 per foot at Napa. Fits perfectly in that gap.

Mines is still working fine almost 5 years later. Might not be a true "fix" but it works.

That's exactly what we need to know man. Thanks for the update. Awesome to hear that it's still holding strong for such a relatively easy fix:cool:

so there is to be no dash torn all apart to attempt to fix this?
i have other issues i don't think are coming from any dashboard/defrost/windshield but i really don't know, maybe not yet, but definitely some bad wind chatter in those vents on passenger side!

Same. I used 2 rubber bungee cords to stuff in between the windshield and dash.
