I did the same. Mine came in today. It's a VERY tight fit getting it on, had to put all my weight down on it to get the tank to slide in. Also went ahead and got a Powertank mount while I was on Amazon.

Use a little bit of soapy water to get the boot on. The soap will act as a light adhesive when it dries, so it sticks nice and secure, and acts as a lubricant when its wet to aid in removal, and installation of the boot.

Where are you guys mounting them?? Or any Ideas? I don't have a tool box and don't plan on getting one and I don't want to mount in the bed. (Looks really good BTW!)

Hairspray is good, but it will hurt the powder coat when/if you ever have to remove the boot.

Well too late for that, boot is on for life now:p

I'm going to mount mine in my bed some sort of way, haven't decided how just yet. I was thinking rivnuts up against the cab side of the bed but still thinking of other ideas. But then i'd have to get the tools to do rivnuts lol. I don't get much use out of my full bed regularly so the mount wouldn't get in the way in my case.

I haven't even had time to get it filled yet with my school load lol. Hell I haven't even had time to swap out the spare tire I've been rolling on for a couple weeks now (is the "temporary use" thing really serious/will my wheel explode? lol)

Nice! I like that. Does the heat and cold have any affect on the bottle? We have some crazy weather her in Utah.

I heard (maybe it was in this very thread but I'm too lazy to go back and look), if the safety disk bursts for whatever reason and the cab fills up with CO2 you can potentially suffocate with the volume of CO2 being released.

I have that stuck in my head for some reason

Heat could affect it, but Ive seen them in the direct sunlight out here without issue.

Just an FYI the Power Tank 6.9" Boot off Amazon was a very tight fit! If you have a heat gun it helps a ton getting it on for a secure fit
