    alright gents,

Here in TN we just got some serious snow. I know most of you get alot more snow than what we just got. Im having some noises going on right by the floor boards.

For starters my shocks feel frozen. They seem stiff. Well I just noticed when turning in both directions here a knocking/metal on metal/something hitting something, but its nothing loud. I know there is some play in the axels but I havent heard this before. Not sure if its just the ice but worst comes to worst ill just let it thaw out

    Thanks Ray

    4x4 ?

Could be something simple as ice build up on the undercarriage and wheelwells

And how cold is "COLD"? I too can feel something under my feet, behind the firewall, but that was in -20 temps after the truck sat over night. It left once the temp warmed up to -10ish

    Ice ^ ?

I remember a thread where people were finding a substantial ice build up in the area behind the front flaps

The oil in your shocks is probably cold and thick giving that stiff feeling.

You should stay home so that when you wet your pants about snow and cold weather it doesn't leak onto your truck's seat

Traction control can make a lot of racket when it kicks in. Sometimes it sounds like things breaking.

We're not. The schools here have been closed all week. Most everything is shut down.

ya, this happened to me when I was living in Colorado. I would plow through a snow bank or my truck would get wet from the melt during the day and then the night would go below zero. so, any snow or water left on the suspension/frame would freeze into a block of ice. this would cause that hard clunking sound. I could never located the exact spot that was making the noise, but as soon as the temperature warmed up, the noise went away.

Yea, when I leave my pickup outside overnight after driving thru slush, the suspension always pops as the shocks and parts unfreeze when I sit in it. Usually when I back it up right away, the drivetrain and wheels are froze, so it hesitate then POPS when it starts moving.

Stop worrying and drive it. I know you think it is 'cold' where you are, but trust me, Tacomas can handle a lot worse than a 10 degree Tennessee morning.

One thing to remember, when it's warm/cold like this, don't use the e-brake. That thing will freeze when you have it on and it's really damn hard to get it disengaged when it freezes. You can break things fast when this happens.

actually we got like 8-10 inches of snow here in clarksville. Which is a lot . I've lived here for 15 years and this is the most snow i've seen. You guys are funny with the dumb comments too.
