You'll still need to o2 skew with secondaries, but it's easy.

Yea you'll need a second O2 for certain and a wide band gauge. The AEM unit has to have something to read off of

Wait why? The goal PSI is 8 and I have been boosting 4.5 PSI for almost two years now without any trouble codes or or any other computer related issues. Unless we're in boost all day every day, I don't think we have to worry about the O2 sensors.

Its not safe to just trust the OEM ones.

PSI is also very relavent and not a good way to judge power. 8psi out of the turbo chris has will be way more CFM then a TRD supercharger at 8psi.

    OEM O2s are narrow band.

Any boosted rig that isn't boosted from the factory should have a wideband O2 to at least monitor your motor, and even stock boosted vehicles once you start to mod it. Otherwise you're just flying blind and being an idiot IMO. a wideband O2 will also help the AEM tuner if you hook it up meriting easier tuning and the truck running better all around.

    Its cheap insurance.

Granted, 4.5psi out of anything unless its a 80mm turbo..not gonna probably cause issues. But i'd be willing to be money you aren't running near as efficient as you could be. But you don't know that because you have no AFRs to base anything off of.

You only need to skew in closed loop. Hopefully there will only be a small section of the RPM band with closed loop boost. Most of the tuning will be open loop so no need to skew the O2 readings.

I have a wide band and gauge and will be taping the AEM into it for tuning.

I think you miss understand. Def need to monitor, but don't need to skew the ECU readings that much. According to Gadget, I won't need to skew them at all but I think Ill have some closed loop/boost overlap.

By the way, DONE (ish)! I'll probably wait for tomorrow to give it a start. Letting some RTV dry for now.

For the oil feed said f-it and used the sandwich plate on the oil filter relocation plate. Payed it safe and used RTV instead of the rubber gasket.

Ok there must have been some confusion... Both Chris and I have wideband gauges and mine is in fact installed and working. Idle is 14.5-14.8 and for whatever reason WOT at full boost is 11-12 with no tuning (probably because my FPR vac line is hooked up to a boost source). I fully understand that a given PSI number from a SC compared to turbo is completely different, but I thought when you guys were talking about "skewing O2 sensors" you were talking about tricking the ECU for power gains or to avoid trouble codes or whatever.

    Oh.

    No.

    least i wasn't..

I mean depending on how much boost Chris decides to run he will have to "trick" the stock ECU with the AEM...and come on..the boost bug is mean bastard..it bites hard..he won't stay at 8 haha 12 baby!

Yeah that boost bug is a little bastard but I'm sticking to 8 psi max regardless LOL. I don't have the patience to deal with piggybacks and tuning beyond simply firing up extra injectors in boost. So when is frankentaco getting a pet snail ? :D

    YESSSSS!!!!

    TURBO!!!!! :goingcrazy:

i am jealous...i wish i could find a turbo port fuel rail to do this...but..whatever. I'll just do it the hard way..haha

Yes, i am the TW paprazzi :p i like it

Take a video of the start up and driving! i wanna hear some turbo whistle :D

also i thought you were moving the IC up higher?

well..if i didn't have to do lockers this summer and rear suspension..id be putting a snail in it probably this summer...but...not gonna happen..:pout:

I really am tempted to try twin charging too..but man. Just not a lot of support for our motors in terms of better cams and valves to beef up the shitty heads on our motors. Be fun to build a 500-600hp twin charged beast..but i can't find anything for cams. Pistons i can find and rods though.

Finding the 3vzfe cams and crank is getting hard..

Im still seriously considering a 2jz still..haha be so fun. But cost a lot...still though. Its in on the table for options. We will see what happens. Long ways off.

Check ebay periodically. I found two when I was looking. Also, give gadget a call. I might have some used/prototypes/test articles still on hand :notsure:

Ill see what I can do about a vid. I'm def going to try to get i taped on the dyno.

I did move the IC up a bit higher. I sits right behind the upper part of the bumper. THIS will be ordered soon and it should fit.

Better save that popcorn. Gonna be a while before any vids are posted

I still have a flip phone (how I'm able to fund the truck) so going to have to dig up the 2002 digital recorder.
