Man I hope they figure your truck out. Seems like more and more Toyotas aren't getting fixed under warranty when they should be these days. Making me not want to buy a tundra or tacoma next year. You might be making my jump to a diesel that much easier. I still hope you get yours figured out.

I've seen lots of problems with synthetic deck products. I'm sure they're not all the same and maybe some problems are installation. My neighbors deck looks like crap after just a year or two.

I found the picture by googling "trex deck disaster"

It's for sure all in how you install it. Cut corners and it will turn out as such.

I installed Trex on my deck in 2002 (625 sq ft of it) and I love the fact that it is durable and maintenance free.

However the color faded within one CO summer. Not just a little, but the entire color profile is gone. I hate the color it became but other than that it's great stuff.

Maybe they fixed the fading issue?

I finished my garden beds with this stuff.

I couldn't imagine dragging deck furniture across it without it getting scratched and peeling.

I only used the 4x, not the 10x, because the texture felt 2.5x better to my bare skin.

Is your CB in the ash try location? I had one setup in that location that worked perfect for a year, and then I couldn't get it to work at all. Replaced everything: coax, stud mount, antenna, spring, changed power and ground, & radio itself. SWR read perfect, but figured out I was having interference with the stereo. Switched to a Cobra 75 and mounted it away from any stereo stuff and I've been problem free since.

Or just buy a baofeng with the na701 antenna by nagoya. Get your tech license and transmit with some real power

It's going to fade. It just fades so much. Don't be afraid to go darker. And there's no splintering, peeling, or cracking. You can paint it. The only prep is a good power washing/cleaning. No sanding or stripping.

At the end of the day a properly cared for wood deck will look better. The Trex or similar is about little to no maintenance and it will out last the wood joists it built on.

I bought their saddle brown. It was a dark brown. Within one summer it turned to a pale cardboard color. Almost all pigment is gone.
