I like the AFE. I just knock it out every so often. Never fully clean it as in wash it or blow it out. I figure if its a bit plugged already, then its just filtering more and i know these types of filters tend to let in too much shit anyways.

Thanks I figure its a pretty solid choice, right now my truck is choking on my K&N filter so anything sounds better. all the dirt and oil mixed together it looks like someone threw up in my airbox, and I can feel the throttle response lacking.

Also you think the deckplate mod would be an intake overkill?

I have the AFE pro dry s with deck plate mod. I really did not feel a difference in power. Maybe a difference in sound at WOT.

I don't think the deckplate is really worth it.

I did it. But..didn't notice anything.

Well I'll buy the filter for now, I'll probably do the deckplate some other time just for shits and giggles. Maybe keep data logged on my Ultragauge to see any difference:notsure:

I love the deck plate mod. Makes the engine way louder and I feel like it gets colder air to the engine. I did the 6" plate. Oh, and I also have the K&N drop in filter

How would it get colder air to the engine? You're sucking in air from the engine compartment as opposed to the fender.

No I didn't pull anything off. Other than some plastics and wipers, toolbox etc. I masked and sprayed. My friend works there so I was able to use the booth to paint in.

The idea is cold air flows in around the head light when your moving...

But really..yea. The stock is a cold air intake already.

Front cross member is where I normally lift from. What are you working on? Skid plate really needs to come off for most stuff down there. Are you working on the rack you mentioned?

Edit: My anser would be "No"
