So, I've got some extra money and I've decided that I'm finally gonna finish my system and order an amp and a shallow mount sub to mount behind the seat of my reg. cab. I've come to a decision to stick with Pioneer, as their products have never dissapointed me and the reviews of this particular sub are outstanding.

I'm going with a 10inch and these are my options:
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11097_Pioneer+Shallow-Mount+TS-SW251.html
    or
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18211_Pioneer+TS-SW2501S4.html

Now, I need to know what Ohms you guys would recommend as 2 or 4. I've heard both good and bad things about both but keep in mind that this is going in a reg. cab which alone puts out a lot of bass with the little space. So, which do you reccommend ?

And also, I need a good amp to run both the subwoofer and my components up front. Depending on the sub I get (one of the two above) and the RMS of my components, which is 80 per pair, what would be a good wattage and channel consideration to power the system ? Thanks everbody for all your help!

My best advice to you would be to wait about a month. The StereoIntegrity BM is almost available. Check out the info here...http://stereointegrity.com/bm.php

    Oh yeah, it's a 12 by the way :)

Dually noted. Thank you sir! I'll keep that in mind. A 12 might be a little too much thump though...

kenwood shmenwood, 2 ohms means less resistance, doesnt necessarily mean louder, it means it takes less power to drive the coil.

I've personally never ordered from them but I'm on the car audio forums I go on have seen many, many people get screwed/ crappy customer service. Just an FYI. I would not trust the stock on their web page if you really want to order from them call.

So, I got to thinking a little bit more and I'm thinking it'd be kinda cool to have two amps: one for the subwoofer, one for the components. Then I got to thinking a little more and came with a design for the truck. I'm not artistically talented but here's an idea of what I have in mind.

Of course everything will be covered and all wires run neatly, but what do you think ?

Any ideas for amps with this in mind ?

Glad you had a good experience with them. Like I said I've never used them before just heard the horror stories. Still cheaper going the onlinecarstereo.com route

You going with an aftermarket head unit? What comps are you running?

Also, change to this sub (for 2 ohm load)

Also, I'll need to upgrade my amp kit and go to a different gauge wire. Any reccomendations for what gauge wire to run ? I'll just look for an amp kit for whatever gauge I need.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
i just got two of the pioneer shallow mounts. I've got about max power running to them and they are alright. I'm used to having more space for subs and what not and these hit harder than my last system but definitely are not as loud.
