Yep. When we broke up we had a verbal agreement (mistake number one) that I pay the the cost of the day care(mistake 2). Got a new GF a few months later. She got jealous and refused to let me see my kid so I filed in the courts. During that time she put her in the most expensive daycare she could find, $220 a week. Courts were so backlogged took me 5 months to get in, even got denied an emergency hearing.
Got court. Got big visitation. Found out any money I gave her wouldn't be considered child support, it was a "gift" and that I still owed dedicated child support for that time and 8 months of child support got added to what I owed. I made only a few thousand more than her a year. So the way child support works is base child support a set amount I think mine was $650 plus the cost of day care $880 so it was like $1530 and since I made 52% of household income I was responsible for think $770 and I had to pay and additional 20% of the payment towards the back child support, which I had already payed but it didn't count.

Moral of the story. Get your agreement filed with the courts right away, super easy to do and learn how to file the paperwork by yourself so you don't make the mistake of paying some attorney thousands like I did.

 

Not to mention she got he house

A friend of a friend is stuck paying child support too. His baby mama makes more money than him by a long shot. How I know she makes more money? I always tip her decently... She's a server. A damn good looking flirtatious server too. He used to make good money til he got laid off.

Carbine buffer should work with that setup.

 

No kidding. I was in the Army with this grimy dude who would blow his whole paycheck at the nearest strip club/whorehouse he could find. I had to counsel him on why that was a bad idea, etc because our superiors got wind of his epic multi-day stints in a puffhaus. The dude said "Whores are cheaper than a real girlfriend" and then he proceeds to break down the financials of his exploits and compare them to the average date night. I brought up the fact that sleeping with an STD riddled hooker wasn't safe, and his reply was that they get tested once a week and have better hygiene than the average woman because to do otherwise would be very bad for business. I couldn't argue with his logic, he received no punishment other than my advice to be a little more quiet about it.
