I like the interior of the 3rd Gen Taco but the exterior really isn't very different and the new headlights and grill suck balls. Outside mine is far better looking than the new one, inside the new one is better. Not sure what to do. Cant fix the ugly headlights but it will only be a matter of a few months and TW members will have a solution to the grill.

    I agree.

I'm biased, but I actually think 2011 is the best looking year for the exterior. I don't like the 2012+ small hood scoop/small fog light front end as much and 2011 is the only year they got the honeycomb grill.

That said, I do like the interior improvements of the newer years, including the 2012-2015. Really wish I had the nicer steering wheel and some parts of the dash are definitely an improvement. The Gen 3 looks awesome inside!

The 2016's V6 and I4 will both receive a 6 speed auto trans replacing the current 5 and 4 speeds autos. I'd expect much better MPG out of both engine platforms (2000 RPMs @ 70MPH overdrive gear)

    yes.

    Stock for now...
I'll keep this one for now , not all impressed with the Taco but my other Toy is a Land Cruiser - so take that with some salt , whole different class of vehicle . If I traded this one off @32,150 miles it has a pretty good value but it would only be for a full size pickup . No reason a mid-size V6 can't get better mileage compared to V8 full size unit that weigh a ton more - no excuses for that . The springs , frames and such just make it worse and despite that I really like the Taco . Can't beat it's good looks and it's reasonably tough , way more comfortable than my 38yr old Cruiser but far too many shortcuts in my opinion . Jury is out on the '16 , not impressed much with looks and a few details would have helped , such as those ass-ugly headlights/tail lights but who wants a 1st gen new engine , and the pricing doesn't help matters . A guy would be better off buying an early 90's pickup and rebuilding it - much cheaper in the long run and decent mileage/power isn't too tough to attain . Rambling a bit , yeah - but that's my thoughts .
I'd just prefer a tough , decent truck that has a well built and well thought-out interior that gets better mileage - like older Toyota trucks . Screw GM and Ford , I've had to fix too much of their crap over the years and don't try selling me they are a new and better build - same shortcuts they've always done except it's more expensive . Never did figure out how GM stayed in business other than flooding the market and being cheap .

It's going to cost me 15 grand to turn my '11 with 65000 miles into a '16 with no miles. Tack on another 3G for a cap and suitable tires. The '16 is nice, but as they say in divorce court, It's cheaper to keep her.

This is the first nice vehicle I've ever had that was paid for. I'm keeping it.

Vehicles are far too expensive to keep getting a new one every few years just because you want a different one. Huge waste of money, IMO.

I'm keeping my 2011 for a long time. It still brings a smile to my face and is fun to drive.

The 2016 seems interesting but not enough to trade in for.

My next vehicle will probably be a sports or muscle car.

After just one year I traded in my '13 Tacoma vvv
    [IMG]
for a wrangler.(not this exact jeep but the same package from adams jeep in maryland) vvv
    [IMG]
In October I traded the wrangler in for my '15 Tacoma. vvv

I don't see myself getting rid of this one in a year, or any time in the near future for that matter. But who knows, the last two were spur of the moment/expensive decisions.
