How secure are those clamps? I was thinking of welding a bolt to my brackets(bolts will go through the jack) and drilling holes through tue bolt, to attatch locks(concept/playing with the idea). May be overkill but I was also thinking about having a nut on the bolt, securing tue jack against the bracket.

You described how mine are. They're pretty secure. The wing nuts loosen up a bit, but not much. Plus there's a hole through the bolt where I keep a small lock on to keep people honest. This also helps to keep the wing nut on.

I also want to make a CB antenna bracket out of a 1/8 strip. Plan on having it mounted by the tailgate/out by tailight. Plan to heat and twist it to form, shouldn't be too hard, right?

Just buy a mount like I did.

Had to drill two holes, but it's held on great. Even when I had my 4' antenna on and drove to Austin.

I bought my mounting brackets from Lex who I believe bought them from ATO. :anonymous:

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
At least you'll have a place to sleep when you can't afford to fill the tank back up, lol. ;) What kind of RTT do you have. This is my plan, bed rack, mounts for hilift, rotopex cans, fuel, water, supplies, spare tire mounted, light tabs, RTT, and what ever else I think of. :D

I will be over in Houston on Saturday. Up off of 290. Do we need a TW express?

I have been trying to find a good way to mount mine without it walking off. I have thought of this idea also, but worry about the amount of stress the rails can take before something fails.
