    Got my stock amber today...thanks! Might be a week or two til I get it installed, I'll post pics of the operation. Going with posi-taps. I don't care about OEM (or soldering...), it's behind the dash, hopefully never to be seen again!

    Installed today...25 minutes. Used posi-taps..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Only tools were a butter knife and a screwdriver. Switch and AC Controls popped out in 5 seconds each. Very easy mod, DO IT!

    You ran the PCB wires directly to the AC controls? (EDIT: Just read up and saw your earlier post)
    What size posi-tap did you use? I've never seen them before and will need to buy a few.


    I can't remember where my soldering iron is and I'm afraid I might screw that up since it has been a decade or more since I have soldered anything. If the wires are long enough to run them directly over to the AC that will probably be best for me. I plan on driving this truck until it dies so I know about the mod and how it is connected -just in case the switch needs to be removed again for some reason. ;)

    I used the Red posi-taps. They are for 18-22 gauge wire (I got them off the bay, but auto parts stores should have them). I don't know how anyone could get a soldering iron in there...must have steadier hands than me!
