I am looking to purchase a 2009-2011 Tacoma CPO DBLCB 4X4 Auto, is there a certain year to stay away from or look for? At first I wanted a longbed, however it seems the shortbed has more options and more to choose from. I like the look of the hood scoop on the TRD Sport but it looks like the TRD Offroad has more options including E-LOCKER which I like. It will not go off road but will see winter type weather like snow and ice. What do I do? What options do I want like ATRAC, DAC etc ? I look forward to hearing from everyone on this confusing search! Also any rust issues with them?

Can only get a sport with the long bed, if you want the off road you'll have to go short bed :puke:

If your not offroading, get the TRD Sport. It has the scoop you like and you can get the long bed in the Sport model. Get the TRD Off-road if you plan to offroad a lot in the future. Seems like an easy decision. I have a Sport and have done lots of offroading with out problem, but I do have a good set of mud tires. Sports have a brake actuated LSD that is OK at best. Off-road models have the locker and atrac which is superior for offroading.

If you don't see dirt then get an SR5 long bed and call it good.

I currently have a TRD Offroad, but access cab. I just ordered a '15 TRD Sport because the long bed is way more important to me than the rear locker. I wish I could have both, but it's a matter figuring out which items were most important.

If a SB is no issue for you, then I'd get the Off-road in a heartbeat.

Personally, I like the way the Sport handles on the road better than the OR - tighter suspension. I had an SR5 with no E-locker [obviously] and I drove it in lots of snow and ice - never got stuck once, and that was with subpar stock Dunlop street tires.

I meant you can only get the long bed in sport between the two ^^

I have a TRD Off Road Access Cab with a long bed. The short bed only must be limited to double cabs.

I am going from a 2009 F350 4x4 Crew Cab 8' bed so everything is going to seem way different. I also have a 2012 4Runner LTD 4X4 which my wife drives.

If you like the scoop and a LB, get the sport. The only thing the OR gets you is an E locker and a slightly better tire. You definitely don't need the locker for Missouri snow. I'm in WI and have yet to feel the need for a locker. Serious off-roading would be a different story.

The scoop is non functional and reflects the sun in your windshield.
It's out of the air flow, so it wouldn't work even if you opened it up.
It's a fucking truck, so pretending it's a sports car is not gonna get the girls.
You're buying used so you'll wind up getting whatever is available anyway, ...and in a color that wasn't your first choice.
What's really important is to go for the one in the best condition you can find, regardless of price, 'cause you won't save money by buying a beater.
