I always though it was a 36mm, and have used one successfully multiple times.

 

I believe the thread for antennas and stud mounts is universal. Not familiar with the FireFly, but sounds like the same idea as the Wilson Flex.

 

I used a 1 3/8 inch socket 36 was too loose

 

This VVVV I use a 1 3/8" socket. It calculates to 34.92 mm.

 

Do you ground the Wilson Flex? Or is NGP like the FireFly?

 

There has been much debate on this. I've mic'ed the nut and it measures in at 35mm but many folks have said they use a 36mm socket. I use a 35mm socket myself. There is some speculation that some 36mm sockets aren't quite 36mm and some nuts that come on non-TGP CVs are 36mm.

I've never used a 36mm socket on them to see how noticeable a difference there is.

 

Hmmm Maybe I'll just grab both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit as good...

 

Just changed both CV axles on Wed.....used a 35mm.....like a glove

Cause I don't have my truck with me, it's an hour away with no reliable hardware stores around. Gotta make sure I bring the right socket the first time.

Ahh that sounds about right.. Luckily the place I went to had 35 and 36, maybe I'll just risk it and exchange the 36. Lol..

Alright, got an interesting one:

Fired up my truck tonight to go for a spin, flipped on the headlights, and the left turn signal turned on solid. Right turn signal flashes as per usual, but I can't get the left ones to turn off as long as the headlights are on. Any ideas on what I should look at first tomorrow?

 

Unless you scratch the hell out of it, it isn't like they won't put it back on the shelf because nobody will notice it had been purchased before.
