I had been eyeing the SJC Titan. Is it as impressive as they make it out to be? I'm looking at it for gaming.

Just got this email from Sig today. Nothing new.

BATFE REAFFIRMS PISTOL BRACE LEGAL TO OWN, INSTALL AND USE
Newington, N. H. (February 20, 2015) – SIG SAUER, Inc. has issued the following statement relative to the January 2015 open opinion letter issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms regarding the SB15 and SBX Pistol Stabilizing Braces.

BATFE Technical Branch issued an open opinion letter dated January 16, 2015 regarding the Pistol Stabilizing Brace (SB15 and SBX) which is marketed by SIG SAUER®. Contrary to several statements subsequently made in social media, this opinion letter did not make or otherwise declare that the SB15 product is illegal. The BATFE letter stated that the SB15 is a product “which is legal to own, legal to purchase and legal to install on a pistol.” SIG SAUER believes that the PSB enhances the shooter’s experience and offers the products as an accessory and pre-installed on a number of pistols. In all of its opinions, BATFE has consistently stated that a pistol with a stabilizing brace attached remains a pistol under the Gun Control Act when used as designed.

    Agree about the Magpul.

Installed the Soft over molded grips on my last two builds and I love the feel. I have big pizza box hands and they feel great.

PWS. A fantastic group of builders. Great products and firearms.

All set up on a bait stand for hogs. None came though. Got 2 on Tuesday though, 1 at 137 yrds, the second at 210 yrds in the dark, using a green laser light.

I'm prone. The mag was what was resting on the pack, plus, at the angle my arm was it was just some place to put it and suck it back to my shoulder. I figured one of you dipshits would say something about that, just not that fast

Works like a dream. My confidence in that rifle as a hunting weapon went up a thousand percent after that 210 yrd shot. bullet hit where I put the dot, basically no drop on the 75 gr hollow point at that distance. Shocked me.

Yeah, Kryptek is the shit. I think I am going to Cerakote my rifle in Kryptek.

I own the Mossberg and used to build the S&W's. Worlds of difference. I ordered the 715t so I never saw it before picking it up, but it's just a plastic covered plinkster702. Releasing the mag is awkward and dumb, and it's a tiny thin .22 pistol style. The S&W has a working charging handle, fatter 25 round magazine, and is much closer to an AR throughout. The Mossberg shoots alright, but if I had to spend the money again, I'd spend a touch more for the m&p22 any day.

There is a new company out there now making Polymer/Sintered copper bullets for a few calibers. .380, 9mm, 40, 45ACP and 458 Socom. The company just started selling the projectiles by themselves for reloaders. In 458 caliber they cost roughly 95 cents each. Our normal caliber bullets generally run 300 grains but these new bullets are only 140 grains in weight. So that being said we can push these close to 3000 FPS from our 458 Socom rifles. Now we have the speed of a .308 round with close to 3000 pounds of energy but the flat shooting similar to a .308. 50 yard zero and the bullet only drops around 12" at 300 yards.

I got (25) of the bullets to test in my RRA 16" rifle. Best velocity is achieved with magnum pistol powders so I had some 2400 on hand to try out. I wanted to test the velocity as well with the Magnetospeed Chrono device too. The Magnetospeed device would not pick up any of them correctly, I did get a few errors when I set the sensitivity to Max but no good reads. I ran (10) normal rounds through it and it read them all perfectly so the bullet isn't being sensed as it passes the magnetic fields.

The muzzleflash was awesome and the video below shows two test rounds being shot. Sometimes the camera catches the flash and sometimes it don't.

Here are some other links of interest. Perhaps in the future we will see more of these type bullets in smaller rifle calibers.

Well it is an AR type rifle and that is a Tacoma back behind me.....

Interesting. I'd have concerns about penetration due to the lower sectional density, and the retained velocity and windage effects at distance, but it's good to try new things. I like light for caliber bullets. I run 110 gr TTSX bullets in my 308 at about 3450 fps for deer & coyotes.

This is relevant to my interests. I had a SOCOM SBR upper years ago but sold it due to the lack of brass/ammo availability at the time. How hard is it to get brass these days and what is it selling for. I could see myself building another
