Getting ready to order ome parts....I'm going with Dakar leaf pack, ome rear shocks, and 5100s in the front with stock coils.

First question: is this list complete? Am I missing anything obvious? 7aaea608ad7e3a2e95960af14540be1c_d0d313e7e13f79e89a55a8b8022a79a62d1b9139.jpg

I'm not planning on doing bumpstops or extended brake lines for now, I don't wheel, and I'm not really concerned about damaging or overextending anything right now.

    Second question:
Should I look anywhere else besides Wheeler off-road? I looked at dsm and 4wheelparts but I couldn't find all the bushings and individual parts I want with either, and their prices looked a little higher anyways.

May I ask why you are deciding to mix and match your shocks?

5100s for the front for adjustability and mild front lift, ome shocks for the rear because I figured they were built for the Dakar leaf pack.

Make sense or is that just a bad idea?

Depending on how much lift you get with the 5100s, aftermarket UCAs would be good too.

I know....I'm going to hold off for a while on those too. Probably will get them towards the end of this year.

I don't believe the OME nitrochargers are sold in pairs. Check on that, you may need to add 1...

Although, it does say set, seems cheap. I thought why were closer to $300

I checked, wheelers description clearly states sold as a pair. I am going to wait to place the order till Monday though, so I can call them and talk through the order, and make sure everything is correct. I'll make sure that they are indeed a pair of 2 and not a single one.

Yeah you're right, I just looked and they are sold as a pair. Sweet.

I have no complaints with my 5100s and stock coils, but any reason you don't want OME struts and some actual lift coils?

Just curious. I didn't go that route because I didn't have the budget for truck parts.

Honestly, I would like them, but I don't actually want more than about 2ish inches of lift in the front, and I don't have the budget for ome struts and coils. I can justify the expense to my wife for shocks all around since they need to be replaced anyways, and since I haul heavy loads the rear leaf pack (probably with a leaf removed) is also a practical upgrade. Since I can get the lift I want with bilstiens, I'm just going with the more cost effective approach.

Worst case 2.5 setting on the bilstiens kills my alignment specs, so I'll dial it down to 1.75, live with some rake, and I'll start saving up for ucas.

Would it make sense for me to hold off on installing the carrier bearing drop kit until after I let the leaf pack settle, and see if I develop any vibes?

I hear ya, that's why I went with 5100s, if I can only justify the money once, they were the best option for the price.

I wouldn't recommend mixing your shocks like that.

I think you would be better off matching all 4-corners ie: Bilsteins all around and adding a leaf pack. The shocks will work together better since that is what they were built for in the first place versus matching the capabilities of a totally different shock brand. I've read some threads on here from people that mixed too much suspension components and ended up hating the ride amongst other problems.

Toytec has a sale on right now for a complete bilstein adjustable lift ($650). Add a leaf pack of your choosing and away you go.

Just my $0.02, take it or leave it, hope I was of little help!

Id wait. I installed my lift and didn't need it so saved me some time and energy vs installing it right away

    Makes sense.

After doing more research, I havent been ableto find a single person who mixed front and rear shocks like that, and theres plenty of people happy with dakars and bilstiens on all 4 corners. So im just going to go with the billies.

Last thing....is it a good thing to go ahead and include new shock stem washers/ bushings and new coil isolators? I figured it was even though I doubt they're damaged with 90k on them.

The 5100s come with new hardware, no isolators though.
