Could look for someone with a 3.73 set that regeared. Not sure if it will fit the 5 lug axles though.

The OP has a XR which utilizes a 5-Lug setup but does not have the same rear end that a 5 lug base model Tacoma uses.

The 3.73 is too much for me.
Where did you get the 3.58s?
How was your performance with them?
Did you have mechanical problems, grinding or other issues (other thsn the speedo being off)?
...How come you got rid of both the 3.73 and the 3.58 and gone back to stock...?

If you acomplished that, how come you went back to stock?
It sounds to me like there is a downside, i just can't figure out what it is...there's you and one other guy that i know of that actually had the 3.73s put on and both of you said the truck runs like crazy, yet both of you went back to stock. Why?

Oh god, this again? You may have had the most mods, and the gears, but you never had any proof of your claims. One day you'll settle your ego, and come to the realization that you were never officially the "fastest n/a xr".

You helped me before with info on this thing and now i'm ready to make a move....however this Balboa guy has not yet answered any of my questions, other than trying to sell me his 3.73 set.

So, i'm interested in the 3.58 ring and pinion set, not the 3.73. I've done some research and can't seem to find aftermarket 3.58s for the XR anywhere...i was hoping Motive Gear or Richmond would have them but no. Do you know of anybody that makes them, or is my only chance getting a set of OEM 01-04 3.58s for some damn $500 or so...?

Amen to that....i figured that most XR owners on XRU are still wet behind the ears. They all thing they invented breathing... I gave up on that after like two threads...

As far as the other thing, it is a Pantera. 1973 custom. Not mine. My brother in law built it, unwillingly sold it and died...what do you want to know about it?

Panteras are one of my favorite cars. I remember goin to an auto show in Philly and there were 10 custom ones that were insane. What engine, what power was that thing making?

it just seems like a person like me can't speak the truth when others are too scared to. If u wanna know what people think about something, don't get upset if someone doesn't like it. There's a few people on my radar that just get under my skin. If someday we meet, they will change their minds on how to talk to me.
