No, Guy's damage is pretty serious, or at least it could be. He was able to limp home, but his driver's side tire has a pretty good lean to it (the bottom was noticeably out further than the top). Could be a bent axle housing or a toasted knuckle bearing. He said he'd have to pull it apart before he'd know for sure.

On an additional note, as we were headed down trail 13 on the way out, Rlockerman (the little Suzuki that could) busted the top out of his strut tower. I escorted him back as far as Countyline road on US41 where he stopped at the Speedway and called AAA to tow him the rest of the way to Sarasota. Sucks to happen on the way out to head home, but I guess in a way it's better than breaking early and not having any fun.

Miraculously enough, I survived the weekend with the only casualty being my windshield washers and I'm home safe. According to the GPS, I put 304 miles on the truck this weekend, 200 of that was on the trails.

I had a blast. I hope the groups I led had a good time as well. Looking forward to seeing Rick's videos and everyone else's photos and videos as well. Aside from the infamous FWC incident, it was an amazing meet.

Wow that really sucks about Guy's runner & also about Rlockerman.
But at least you didn't break anything this time. Maybe airing down does help.
With the exception of the ticket it was fun, I might have to camp next time.

Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
No worries with the Runner, it's all about the build and finding the next weakest link. I'll blow the front end apart next weekend and assess.

Too bad about the Zuk, the fix could be a simple strut tower brace.

All in all a few speed bumps aside a great weekend with even greater company!

If it makes you feel any better, you guys getting busted saved me from a potentially stupid course of action. I was about to try climbing up a washout that everyone else in our group thought looked insane. I didn't think it looked that bad, so I wanted to at least try it to see why they thought it was so narly. However, before I could get over there, the word came about you guys getting caught and we decided to bug out of the area.

As far as airing down, yeah, I figured it was worth a shot and it seemed to work out. Hard to say how much it helped though. I don't think I was beating on it as hard this trip as I had on those others. I also put the factory CV back in the driver's side (which seems to be the one that breaks first most of the time) and it's supposed to be a little stronger than the Autozone CVs, so maybe I just hit on the right combination this trip to keep everything together.

Yesh hopefully the leak in my ARB locker isn't in the diff I would hat to sent it back for the 3rd time but it's almost t the point I'm kinda disliking the aeb even though this is the first actual problem I've had with it. But the whole combo seems like it's going downhill breaking 2 pinion gears without it locked

I hear that, that climb had the potential for a lot of passenger side body damage! The valley was really cool, but the legal trail at the top of the forest on the north west side was the best scenery at Citrus. Nice elevation change too.

Here's a pic Guy got of the ravine I was about to drive up (see the orange arrow)...

    Ravine.jpg

    Glad you enjoyed it. :D

You know, it almost doesn't make sense that you damaged the front axle in that little hole. You were beating on it a heck of a lot harder back in June launching the front tires off the ground for those bad ass pics. I didn't think you hit the hole that hard, but I guess it was.

I don't think the Suzie was hurt that badly. It's more like it pushed the top of the strut up through the isolator bushing on top rather than any kind of metal damage...I think anyway. It's still not exactly a quick repair to be done on the roadside...at least not when AAA will drop you off in your driveway with no charge. :D So, yeah, while it sucked, it wasn't nearly as serious and/or costly as the potential damage to the 'Runner.

Is it wrong that I feel a little relieved that I seemed to have passed the breakage baton off to others this trip? :D Haha, I almost didn't want to go ride the trails this morning just so I'd get out clean (of broken parts anyway ;)).
