I don't think you're going to get what you're looking for out of this thread.

Your original post makes it sound like you paid that much NOW for a three year old truck. You clarified (sort of) later but it's too late, the damage has been done.

I assume the reason for the post is that you're still making payments, and find the payments annoying on a truck that's lost a little of the "new truck glow" but that's just a guess.

The reason folks pay so much is the engine. You just *never* read about anyone needing a rebuild on these things. That strength makes up for a lot of sins.

Also, 35K "seems" like a lot, but it's barely over the new car average price these days. So for about the price of the average car, you get a long lasting reliable mid size truck with a lot of capabilities.

OP, you paid for a vehicle that will typically last longer and is more reliable than an American vehicle.... yes, I hate to say that about our country's vehicles.

Brakeman, your TW name here reminds me of member 'Workman'. Good guy, but he speaks in the 3rd person for every post.

File IFR feels confident your truck will be worth it in the long run.

I've had pretty good experiences with Toyota customer service. Owning up to their issues and fixing them for free: coil spring, gas pedal, headlights, frame replacement. I've never owned anything but toyota so i cant speak for other makes. I'm happy.

The number one reason is, You wanted it, good enough for me, sounds like a very nice truck, overpriced?? who knows? nobody knows, I don't think that even the dealership knows, we hear a lot of talk about "invoice" & all that B.S. and that is all it is B.S. You bought it, Now enjoy it. jmop

Don't "kid" yourself,, we all got bent over, (some more than others) jmop

    Is it the long bed?

If so, when you die they can just put you in the back an bury the whole truck. Kinda like a Viking funeral only no fire and no water.

I bought my 2012 dclb sport used in 2013 for 38,000 out the door. Quit whining. I didn't even get a roof rack, nav, or 18s and I believe the dollar was close to par.

I loves mine and 30-40k for a vehicle you love is pretty reasonable, especially if it's as reliable and retains value as well as a tacoma.
