$60 ultraguage tell you when you in open loop or closed. As well as your timing advance. If that is what your referring to.

I don't know if this was directed toward me, but my ultraguage is only in open loop during wot or pretty close to wot, you have to really being pushing the pettel anyway. And a minute or two after start up.

Wasn't saying it wouldn't give you power or better mpg, just not where it is useful.

It refers to tons of people. I have a YouTube video showing when the 1GR goes into open loop. From other members' testing, the 2TR's programming has it stay in closed loop much longer, through pedal position and load %, comparatively to the 1GR 's.

I see. I understand it all depends on the engine load and what not. My 3rz is probably much like the 2tr's then. So is it relatively easy to get the 1gr to go into open loop?

Being able to read the air fuel ratio or the actual ignition advance is only one part of the equation. Knowing what the numbers actually should be is where the knowledge comes into play.
I use our dyno to tell me what is too much or not enough. When you are making a good change the power goes up, and when you go the wrong way the power goes down.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Quirt, I just watched the video of your personal subie, holy shit is that thing badass!!
Torspd asked a few pages back about a crawford turbo kit for the Tacoma, any plans for one? It seems there is a market for one considering how many buy the overpriced supercharger, and how many on TW that want boost, I know I would rather have a turbo setup than supercharger.
I plan on buying the ecoblock this week, just turned 60,000 miles, so I'm really anxious to see how it works for my situation, lots of city driving and lots of highway, up to 200 miles in a day. Thanks

    Thanks Nickel :)

We have never thought about turbocharging a Tacoma or any other Toyota product for that mater because of the lack of a viable tuning option, sorry. I could not agree with you more about a turbo over a supercharger, the torque from the turbo makes it a no brainer for me.

Can't wait to hear your input about our EB!

No problem, I have learned a lot of what I know from others sharing with me and I enjoy returning the favor.

Quirt, is there a ecoblock available for 2013 Tacoma? Your eco-block application list only shows up to 2012.
I was thinking of buying one for my wife's 05 Legacy GT also, but I had Cameron install a "stage one" tune on it, and was wondering if it's kind of duplicating the tune? Car runs great, but fuel mileage isn't great, 21-22mpgs with the wife driving.

I would be willing to give one a try for the 4cyl. I spend alot of my driving in the higher rpms and spirited. $40 is worth a shot.

To contribute my ultra gauge tells me I'm only in open loop for about 7 seconds after startup and I stay in closed loop until the next time I start the truck. I accelerate at 80% load and shift at ~1800 rpm. I don't ever floor it but I'm sure that's the only place I will be in open loop. I would like to try the spacer if the money back guarantee is open in the future.
