Not bad, but does the door dropping down like that get in the way of cooking?

Except that we were nowhere near prepared for the wind that night! Luckily we didn't lose the easy up! Jalama is known for it's random wind.

I thought of a few ways. Not really a solid safe way to go about it haha. Plus, its such a small area you would be sweating. Those little stoves put out heat like crazy.

Why not get a Mr. Buddy propane for the chilly nights?

Cook with the box lid in the open position. Lots of room on that stove top so the lid does not get in the way. When you're ready to pack up drop the top and raise the tray table and the latch them together. Everything is snug inside.

That is a sweet looking spot. I put that park on my list. How do they treat dogs, Leash only?

We are scheduled for a three trip down the road at Leo Carillio SP in late May.

Dogs are allowed off leash. I think it is 5 extra bucks per dog. A lot of people bring them. There is a beach that half of the sites are on like the one I was in and it allows dogs as well. Extremely dog friendly. Only place they aren't allowed is the shop/burger joint at the end of the beach.

There are tons of places in Cali that have green shubbery and trees! Just not San Diego.. I could live in summer year round easily, but don't want to live in the desert. Im probably going to be coming down to LA to go to medical school after im done with my undergrad so Ill get a taste of what its like.

I got accepted to UCSB and so regret not going there..

O I know theres actually plenty. I actually like Northern Cali (Napa Valley area). San Diego is just not my area id ever want to live full time. Constant brown cloud over the city, crowded, Non-English speaking people all over, and lastly expensive! O yeah and no use for turn signals either...nobody cares to use them

How was the Devil's Road? We were going to drive it last fall, but things went all haywire...ended up going up north instead. Any safety problems? I've heard a lot of things pro and con, but never from someone who had any recent info.

A great drive, safety in numbers, we started out with eight rigs, found a great spot and sat for three days. Temps were nice both day time & evening.
We saw a lot of Border Patrol, talked to a few and where told it had been real slow.
Before we got there it rained three days in a row & we were told they got 3in of rain. We came across a mud section at least 3/4 miles long and deep, everyone, had it in 4lo and locked, no one wanted to be the one to get out and hook up a strap in the mud.
