    Lol, thanks!

Yeah, 1095. Stains easy but it's a traditional material and sharpens with no effort. I've been carrying an 01 tool steel sodbuster for a week or so and 01 is a bit better material I think. Still traditional.

    Those are absolutely stunning. Congrats.

Now I have a pretty good idea what you just spent on your AS, and here you are already considering new blade purchases?! You are sick, SICK! :D

Ordered an ESEE 4 last night. Blaze Orange with 440c blade. Can't wait for it to get here. Need to buy some para cord to make a lanyard for it.

Made a strop block today with a couple pieces of leather belt. Works pretty good.

I like it quite a bit. Used a smaller version by Lansky for several years but picked up the Sharpmaker a year ago and it's great. I rubber band a diamond rod to it when I need to do any reprofiling. The two included rod sets are medium & fine.

My friend shot a hog Saturday. I couldn't bring myself to drag my new knife thru it. The thing was coated with clay and sandy mud. Haha. I dulled my other knife with the first entry stroke. It was so gritty.

I did use it for skinning. The handle got a tad slippery.

    It was fun.

That an Axis deer in the other pic?

And I did the whole thing with new knife. That's what they're made for.

These are all zero Tolerance. 0301 on top, 0121 fixed in the middle, and 0350 on the bottom.

I really want to get a Strider folding knife like the SnG sometime.

Just a bunch of old crap
Picked up this funky little gem at the sportsman's expo out here in Phoenix this past weekend. Made by Willamette Valley Cutlery out of Oregon. True Damascus steel (certificate of authenticity states it's a mix of 1095 high carbon steel and 15N20 nickel, minimum of 250 layers and up to 1000 layers). This blade is 1/4" wide at the handle, tapering bluntly to the tip, making it heavy but yet very balanced in the hand. The handle is English Walnut. Overall length of the knife is dead-on 6" and fits my fat fingers like it was made for it.

Look closely at the second pic at the spine of the blade on the point half and you can see the etching pattern there, too.
