I'm not sure what you were trying to do, but if you ordered the ultragauge MX 1.3 preloaded for the Tacoma, just go through the gauge pick out page and trans temp should be there under the name you mentioned

Post 222 implies I need to plug in the code to make tranny temp work. Post 230 (my question) & 232 (answer) also imply same. I was doing what i thought I had to do.

Other than the "M-gauge 5" I did not see a specific "transmission temp" listed like the other gauges are. IF the "M-gauge 5" is correct, I'm content.

Hmm. I'll have to check mine, thought it said something that hinted at trans temps

MGauge 5 TRN °F are the trans temps in Fahrenheit I'm pretty damn sure. Idk what else that'd be, but the temps it's been reading correspond with typical transmission temps.

When mine comes in in a day or two, I'll get back with you. So what your saying is that you don't have to program the code into the device? It already comes ready to use

I sent mine out a week ago so hopefully it comes back this week.

I'll chime in with what I find out as well. Hopefully it's just plugging it in, adding the gauge to a page, and hitting the road. Been waiting for tranny temps since I got my UG two years ago. Can't wait.

You are getting yours upgraded, right? If so, it should be all ready to go, no entering of codes needed, just like when you buy it new.

Just go through the "select gauge" pages and then go through the pages of gauges. There will be multiple "MGauge _ _____" selections, one is TRN °F for trans temps Fahrenheit

So it has to be mx 1.3? Because my mx 1.2 will not do it.

So I don't have to go out and buy a service book yet can anyone tell me where the fuse is for the OBD or if it has one at all. My old U/G I think burned out or the fuse burned out anyway I purchased a new mx 1.3 since I was going to get one to replace the old one for the tranny temps.

That is what I've been wanting to confirm. As stated before, I'm content with that.

For the benefit of others, the configuration (I have) for MGauge 5 is:

    Abbr1: Trn Abbr2:°F

You must plug in the following values to MGauge 5:
    TDATA: 07E02182
    MTCH: 6182
    RPOS: 2808
    RCTRL:21
    TCTRL:92
    X: 0009
    /: 0005
    +: FFD8
    Output format: 00
    Left/Right is 31
After programing my UG per the above, I have trans temps - 2015 Sport, 4.0L, Auto

What version are you running on your ultragauge?

I wonder if yours is different being it's an 05 and most of the others who have it working seem to be 12 or newer.

Ugh, so tempting! Had one in a previous vehicle and loved it.

Depends how much extra money I have at the end of the month I guess.

Here's what shows up on my unchanged from UG mx1.3: it was a 1.2 model, but I upgraded it

There's different spacing there, but the forum didn't keep it the way I had put it. Either way, those are the numbers I have.
