Minneapolis is up and coming. From what I understand unemployment is low, pay is good, and housing is affordable. I am biased to the northwest though. Can't hardly go wrong with Washington and Oregon.

There's a safety valve company in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Black Mountain, North Carolina (really nice little town just east of Asheville) called Kunkle Valve Co. They make pressure relief valves and probably some other things. Not sure if NC appeals to you but it is in the south. North Carolina seems to have a whole lot of other manufacturing companies too. More than we have in Virginia.

Dalton, keep your head up my friend... 22 yrs. young, the journey has JUST begun. GO WEST YOUNG MAN!! I grew up in Oklahoma, and started working the oilfields in my early 20's back in 1979, till it came to a crash in the early 1980's. Decided to get out of oilfields and started driving Concrete Mixers in 1983, been doing that now for 32 years! And i still love "Hauling Concrete" in the big city to this day(I am now 58). Once you get skilled at driving Mixers, you can go anywhere and get a job tomorrow. I drove in OKC 4yrs., move to Phoenix and drove mixers there 8 yrs., got tired of Phoenix, moved to Tulsa and drove mixers there 4 yrs.. got tired of the low pay there, Moved to Las Vegas and hauled concrete there 13 yrs, till the big crash and got laid off in 2011... Now i am in Seattle last 3 yrs. and making the best money i have ever made... in the teamsters here so the pay and benefits are second to none!! What i am saying is, get a class "B" CDL(minimum requirement to drive Mixers) go find a concrete company willing to train you(1-2 weeks with a trainer) do it for at least 1 year, then YOU can pick what city and state you choose. GOOD DAY, and stay POSITIVE if nothing else. Employers want happy, shiny people who can make them lots of money, and yes, GO WEST. It is the best!!!

Trade that snow shovel for a surf board, see if you can get a transfer, Dresser has a plant right next to us out here in CA and they are always real busy.

The plants in Cali are green tag centers, they pay a franchise fee to carry the name, so they are not a he company, no transfer there. Lol
