It sucks; after being on this shift for almost two years I'm ready for a change but the company I work for is draging their feet with my request to transfer to first shift.

They pay so well though that I can't find another job within $5,000 of what I'm making now, before taking my night shift differential into account even. So it's not all bad, but the money isn't worth it to me anymore. I want to wake up and feel rested during the week.

I don't blame you. Seems like it would be a bitch to get anything done...ever.

Hospital maintenance. 10:45-7:15. Welcome to the Graveyard!

The last place I worked hardly did any maintenance on the lifts. Hard to believe we didn't have snapped chains and more with those relics (1960's) Be safe!

    Nite.
We have crane and fixture people onsite. They have their own building here.
I've ran into a few issues with the 60 ton overhead and a couple with the jib cranes but once a safety wo is put in, they are on it.
Guy already picked my fixture up for repair.

Just checking in on my night shift peoples. Back on shift Tuesday night.

Texas T, I'm Civil Service (Air Force) Aircraft Load Planner. 10PM - 7AM Tue-Sat with every other Sat night off for a 3 day break. I retired from 26 yrs active duty Air Force in 2009.

    Working on it.
We have been getting some bad weather here in CO, working nights is great cause the roads are clear of the dumbass people who cant drive in the snow. Which makes for more 2WD skinny pedal induced fun.

I just started my shift an hour ago. Freaking tired though, was a 4 hour sleep day. Insomnia when sleeping in daylight. Even a blackout curtain doesn't seem to help.
