That tree sucks! It's massive as well, makes my lawn look like shite 85%of summer due to all the acidity in the ground, drops 4 inch needles in about a 1/4 acre in all directions. Will probably cost me a few grand to remove...Hate that tree!

Good to know :) I've been eyeing them for a while, now that I've got a cb to run its time to finally purchase.

If you get one the 4' antennas might work better but it sticks up sooooo high it looks funny to me. I got the 3' Wilson flex, looks like a thin Firestick but it's flexible. I have mine hard mounted to the BAMF mount, works great and have had 0 problems with reception.

I ended up getting a 3' Firestik Firefly, and a Roadpro folding mount which I thought was kinda interesting. I'll run with it folded down and out of the way until I need to use it. I've got a Bestop which leaves me a couple inches on the bedrails to fold down and attach to.

Alot of guys run the firesticks but if you plan on wheeling with it I would make sure you add a sping to it. I have seen people break both those fold downs and even the firesticks themselves. Wilson flex is much better IMO

Concur. I run a fire stik with a spring. Even then sometimes it seems like it could break going through the woods.

The springs are really good to have. I have either a medium or a heavy spring on my 3' firestik and I hardly see any movement from highway driving, but it moves around a lot on trails which is good

Edit: you too Alex, just saw yours.

Thanks for the info guys, I actually planned on getting one but held off to see how this "firefly" version was. Supposedly it's their most flexible version. My original plan was to get the spring. Is it too much crap stacking these two things on top of each other, the fold down and spring?

I don't think so. I would do spring at base then the fold and last the antenna.

Thanks I'll try that. Now for some more warmer weather so I can get out and do all this.

I've got a firefly now. Much more flexible than the standard firestik I had before. Not sure how it compares to the wilson though

Just booked a trip to LA next weekend. Wife is out there from mid next week through the following week so no having to pay for rental cars, hotel etc..

Will be a nice long weekend away. Plus I have like $1500 in vouchers from taking later flights when mine are overbooked/overweight which always happens since the only things flying into WV are small turboprop puddle jumpers

Anyone have one of the new kindle fire hd (6 or 7)? I've had the original since 2011. The new ones are 15% off today. I don't need a new one, old one works just fine. But for long flights mine doesn't hold that much content since its only 8gigs, and can't play HD content either.

I only start mine for about 1 min with me sitting in it before I leave. Just enough for the oil pressure to go up and the idle to start going down. I drive slowly for the 1st few minutes untill the temp starts to rise. I don't like to let a car sit and idle for very long but I think for Rachels next car I will get her a factory remote starter.
Rachel has the original one as well. Works good but she and the kids like the Samsung tablet much better. Just put the kindle app on it and it does about the same thing
