I've done this with good results. Should be noted that refills are illegal on the highway.

Please explain. I've got a couple I reuse all the time. I toss them when the valve inside doesn't shut off. Otherwise I've had no issues. Never heard of DOT refilled propane regulations though

^^^It's not illegal to refill 1# cans. It is illegal to transport them after they have been refilled.
I've filed this one under unenforceable laws:rolleyes:

What do you guys like for sleeping bag liners?I can't locate mine and am going to need one for this weekend. I've got an older "-20F" mummy bag I usually use and lost my liner. Honestly don't even know what brand it was, but it was great on really could nights. Going on a snowshoeing/ backpacking trip this weekend in the White Mountains, so I'm definitely going to need all the warmth I can get without bulk. I was looking at this one since it had good reviews on Amazon/rei and is in stock at my local rei.

I have a reactor and like it. For me, the thing that made the biggest difference (warmth wise) was getting an Exped Syn Mat.

Thanks, I'll probably pick it up. Besides a little added warmth I find I sleep better with a liner vs without. Just sliding around in the bag annoys me for some reason

Mat is probably one of the next things to upgrade. Been using just a standard foam mat for 15+ years along with the same mummy sack for 15+ years

Looking to be a little chilly this weekend. Actually Sunday looks nice, hopefully it's not super windy. I don't mind the cold, but the wind can be killer. Need to remember to re loft my bag before I go and dig out the ready of my cold weather suppliescd51cc74b165ff85acd2aeb61c8290b9_530788e96d1c7ea1bbc62b02e26dbf3420170c1e.jpg

The ski area is mostly north facing iirc which causes it to be super windy usually. We'll be staying by lonesome lake to the south and snowshoeing up the south side of the mountain Saturday

They are great for the northeast since we usually have pretty slick/icy conditions

Great looking trip Alex. I'm a sucker for winter camping so I would have probably set up camp in the first spot and stayed put.
