Built for maximum low end torque, tooter II.VII intake manifold spacer, LCE long tube header, Injen long tube intake, 2,900 rpm torque peak.
I can confirm similar minimal normally aspirated gains, as I also did a plug and play larger throttle body swap from a 46mm stock 1NZ to a 55mm Corolla 1ZZ on my Toyota Yaris, and dyno tested before (blue) and after (green).

In driving, what you do feel is a quicker more responsive throttle as the same incremental movement of the gas pedal is opening a larger butterfly. But it's a deceptive feeling as the actual hp gain is insignificant.

Less restriction, less turbulence, little more flow. Yeah. It won't give you neck snapping power gains, but you'll notice it.

Surprised I haven't seen anyone just send their Tacoma 65mm out to get bored. Cheaper, can get it taper bored, and can also get the shaft machined to a thinner profile.
No adapter necessary, no additional edges in the airstream, no additional length added.

Just way too many pros vs the adapter.

There have been in the past. Only a few did it that i am aware of. Whichever company did it, the buyers were satisfied. Not saying it cannot be done properly. Just needs a company to have the the proper parts and know what size to bore it to. Not hard either. Easier to just bolt on the adapter and a new TB though.

Does it change the diameter of the throat and the butterfly?

Is the adapter still 65mm on the outlet side?

The 76mm throttle bodies I'm seeing on ebay are between $250 and $300. Add to that a $50 adapter.

A bore service, will disassemble, clean, bore, fit new butterfly, machine shaft to thinner profile, 2 to 3 day turnaround for roughly $150.

Just putting it out there for discussion. I picked up an extra throttle body awhile back to do just this, but it's been on the back burner due to a move.

Glad it worked for you. I suppose it might have helped since it's allowing more air in at idle. There aren't any adjustment screws on these new fly-by-wire TB's.

Back in the day I had a bored throttle body from JG Engine Dynamics on my B18A1, worked just great. The biggest thing I noticed was throttle response.

Before that on my old MK1 Scirocco, we'd use MK2 TB's. Those only seemed to add a little top end.

Of course one could note that all three of these examples are three different systems.
    -K-Jet Lambda Non-OBD w/ two butterflies.
-OBD-1 with a throttle cable and idle adjustment screw.
    -OBD-2 fly-by-wire, no adjustment screw.

Keep checking on the price of the 76mm throttle bodies. I paid ~$150.
The outlet on the adapters are the diameter of the I.D. of the intake manifold/ upper plenum. Which is larger than the single VVT-I TB. I think the 70mm adapter is straight through. Not 100% sure on that though. I'll have to check.

The TRD s/c has a smaller I.D. Inlet than the plastic upper plenum.

Good to know. I'll get my spare TB's outlet bored to 70mm and the inlet tapered out to max.

Interesting that the SC is 65mm. Only reasoning I can think of is trying to up the velocity of the incoming air. Porting it out may do more harm then good.

Why is so hard to find a 70 mm FJ or 4 runner throttle body? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
