    I bought 2015 DBC 4X4 in Nov 2014, also bought 8 yr 100,00 mi platinum warranty paid $2,122. Dealer said that was the cheapest deal. After reading these post went to dealer today and cancelled extended warranty and getting refund. Going to shop around but might wait until 3yr 36,000 mile is close. Thanks to all for sharing.....

    I generally never buy extended warranties on used vehicles, but figured I was going to keep the Taco I just bought for many many years and lots of miles so let the finance manager talk me into one. 4 yrs/120,000 miles (I do about 25k/year and truck currently has 25k was the reasoning for this time frame) for 1750$. After reading this thread I am going to cancel for full refund (less than 30 days) and go with the TCUV warranty which covers everything for 12,000 miles (6 months for me) and my powertrain until Oct 2016. As many miles as I do per year it maybe doesn't even make sense for me to buy extended warranties since the miles will be up long before the time. Better to just save up for repairs?? Dunno. Anyway THX TW!

    Is there a place I can simply find the major differences between these models? - TRD/ 4 runner/ prerunner etc??

    Thanks

    ^^ If you're looking for the differences in each vehicle/trim, Toyota's website is the best place to look. They have brochures on each vehicle that compare the different trims/packages at the end.

    If you're looking for differences in the extended warranties for each, I have no idea.

    Canufixit;
    The posted prices above are a good average for costs;
    The Rav4 and Tacoma 4x2 are the same posted prices for these mg/yrs.
    Corolla's and other sedans are going to be lower maybe 100 or so. Tacoma 4x4 will be higher but are negotiable.
    Tundra and Sequoia more stuff and vehicle cost; VSP will be a couple hundred higher....
    You get the picture.
    Good luck.

    Thanks, But I was looking for equipment differences. Often In the threads posters say only the trd model or only the runner. I'd like to know what the differences are between the trucks are in a quick side by side list .... not have to look up each one,

    I just sent Toby (Lexus of Shreveport) for a quote on the extended warranty plans for my 2015 Tacoma AC 4x4. Hopefully he will come in close to the prices mentioned above. The quote from my local dealer was crazy high.

    I'm fresh off of researching the different Tacoma trims and suggest you look at the "ebrochure" on the Toyota website. Towards the back of it...there is a really good side by side comparison of all the trims. Also, using the "Compare Models" feature, you can choose several different trims and compare them all side by side.

    BTW...when I bought my truck (2) days ago, I was offered the 7 year/100K mile Platinum warranty for $995...I declined.

    The VSP (extended warranty) issue is also discussed extensively in the RAV4 forum...
    I believe the consensus is that 'internet sales' have been shut down, probably on a Toyota region-by-region basis. However telephone/email has not, at least in the Gulf States Toyota region...
    Just email for a quote and see what he offers.

    Let us know what you decide; BTW; I'm in VA and had no issues with purchasing 2 warranties (Taco and Rav4) thru him; and no extra taxes or fees, etc.

    I got mine from Toby in last few days ,it says the procedure for using it is to first go to your "selling" dealer...not sure if it means veh seller or VSP seller...turned to front page of book and it says Toby's dealer is the "selling " dealer...so, I tried to phone Toyota to check on this cuz there is a 30 day cancel policy for the VSP..did not get thru to Toyota yet...anyone out there actually used there warranty at home that was purchased somewhere else?? How did it go??
