Are the 16s more concave than the 17s?

Do the 16s not clear the 2014 tacoma brakes? Page 1 days only up to 2013..

16s have less backspacing which means a deeper dish

the 16s clear my '06 brakes just fine...don't expect much difference to a '14

Will the 16" five stars clear the brakes on a 09? How do you go about ordering the wheels? I have tried to contact them but no answer for a month or longer :(

The only concern is rubbing issue on the FN five star. I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD stock suspension and wondering if anyone had any rubbing issue with stocks set up? Not plan on lifting the truck anytime soon but in love with these wheels! My main question is if I was to run with 265/70/17 AT tires with the 5 star wheels, would it rub against anything like the chassis? What would you recommend taking off? I know the truck will look better with a lift but would like to hear from some people with stock set up and seems like everyone up here is all about the lift.

Would be great if edgerat [IMG] can chime in. I know he is running 17 with stock suspension at the moment. Would like to know his thought. :)

with 265s, i would be very surprised to see you rub on your frame...

i'm not sure how it'll clear while turned, but i'm on 315s and have cut and beat quite a bit in the back... but i do not rub my frame..

so if you have to do anything, take off the mud flaps (if you have them) and you may have to trim some plastic on the fender flare..with 265s, i don't think you'd have to do any more than that, but it's been a while since i've seen a tire that small

Many people here runs 285s with some trimming. I could not imagine how 315s sits. How high is your lift? Yea, I know I'm just a small timer with 265s but some day I'm hoping to run with them big boyz too :). And about the trimming, is it easy as to take a sharp box cutter and trim some plastic out?

I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on purchasing the 5 star but again need to know the ride condition with stock suspension especially when turning

back when i moved up to 285s, i was using tin snips on the side of the highway to cut away at the plastic on the flare and stock bumper...problem with a knife, is cutting a curve and cutting even on both sides...i like the tin snips and would recommend them for an easy cutting tool for the heavy plastic

i'm only on a 2.75" lift F&R (2" cut out of my fenders and flares)

start small and cut back as needed..try to keep it looking as stock as possible

you can trim away from the inside edge of the flare (firewall side) up to the first bolt that is 6-8" or so up from the cab mount and still keep it rigid and you barely notice it from the outside..this small clearancing gains a good amount of space back there

I used to run 265 70 17 on counter steer x with a ome lift and would rub mud flap and plastic when I u turned.what I did was hit it with a heat gun and roller.solved that problem.

That's a pretty good idea, shrink it and smooth it.

OOPS! Sorry guys, I didn't catch the updates. Yes, it does rub with stock suspension and 265/70/17 Duratracs. I removed the front flaps and it still rubs if the suspension compresses. It rubs on the flare just a bit. I imagine if I cut off the edge of the flare it would be fine but, I have always planned on lifting it, just haven't decided what to do. Every time I think I have it figured, I second guess myself.

I would trim enough to fit 285s if I was to lift my truck but that is just my dream.
