Had a little incident last night wheeling, she will live to see another day, fucker swallowed my whole tire. I thought the ice was thick enough to drive over, I was mistaken. Lesson #1, when there is a bypass you should take it.

That's why I don't fuck with water/ice. Way too skurred for water to get into engine and/or electronics. Too much $$$ to fix.

Yeah I got lucky that my slider was resting on the ice so I didn't sink in any further. No water in the cab which was nice. The ice was about 5" thick, but my truck is fat and full of heavy metal.

    Body or shaft?

The shaft is straight, there's a reflection that gives the illusion of being bent, however, to me it looks like the body isn't straight with the shaft.

Look at pictures 1 and 3... both make it look like the shaft is very very bent!

It's where the shaft goes into the water. Reflection makes it look bent. Look at teh axle housing is half under water

Just a reflection, it does appear to be bent at a glance.
Here's a crapy pic, but you can see the reflection of the end of the shock body in the water.

So if it's not bent which to me it still looks bent in your zoom in... why would he take a picture of it?

I don't think the shock is bent I think it's an optical illusion as stated. I wheeled the rest of the night and all today without issue but now that u mention it I never really inspected it up close haha. Maybe I'll check tomorrow, I'm good at breaking things

I took that pic to show how deep the puddle was in relation to shock and shackle mounts with tire submerged.

Thats where the shaft is meeting the surface of the water, its the lighting, the "bent" section is actually underwater.

.....Or im blind, its kinda dark =P
