That's good to hear. The 2.5's were pathetic in terms of reliability.

That's great. Hopefully more for the trucks. I read in here that the reason motor companies did not use this method was for a safety margin... But how dangerous is this block that it prevents motor companies from taking advantage of 7% increase? What is the negative balancing this positive in order for this to work?

The manufacturers are mandated to have a pretty big safety margin and this is what all aftermarket tuners take advantage of. The negative side is you could get a check engine light sooner if you have a sensor start to go bad. And because you are making a little more power, there will also be a little more wear on some of the drive train components.

Just got mine today, coast to coast it only took a few days. Really easy install, th hardest part was just making sure the little o ring didn't fall out of place. If I were to experience a cel would it most likely happen quickly? Looking forward to tracking mpg, my last 6 or 7 tanks have been averaging 17mpg and according to ultra gauge it's 17.1 mpg.

Unfortunately ultra gauge doesn't seen to measure afr unless I missed it. Anybody with a ultra have any suggestions on what I should monitor?

If your O-ring was not sealing correctly then you would have a check engine light immediately.

Can the ultragauge give you Lambda? You can get AFR from Lambda by multiplying the lambda value by 14.7 .

Good to know. I haven't actually driven it anywhere but it was idling for 5 mins or so after I installed it and everything is good.

I have all those set already, was just wondering if there was anything else I could/should look at.

I'll have to check on that one, don't know.

The Crosstrek with a WRX engine sounds awesome. My wife wanted a Crosstrek but they're too slow. She got a Forester XT instead. Subaru would sell a ton of turbo Crosstreks if they offered them.

This is an interesting piece. So it looks to move the maf closer to the wall of the pipe. Maybe slower velocity going through the maf sensor. That might help make the truck run slightly leaner, causing the bump in mileage. Just a guess that is probably wrong.

Curious to see if anyone is getting results from it. Maybe someone can look and see if their long term fuel trims will trim fuel compared to stock.

Said screw it and ordered one. Two main reasons. #1 I'm going up in tire size pretty soon and this will give hopefully negate any or some of the mileage lost. #2 I have a 90 mile round trip commute every day and I drive pretty aggressively on the highway so bring on the power.

I have been keeping track of my mpg for close to 2+years now. I'm averaging 17.3mpg now.

Perfect, keeping track for that long will give you a great baseline. Please share your results.

Spot on, that's exactly what is happening. We are moving the sensor head to a location in the intake tube where there is less air flow.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Day one, felt a bit more response to my foot. I have to fill up before work, so I can start a new tank for a few weeks.

I figured with a 7% increase in fuel economy I should save around 1 cent per mile. Adding up to $3+ a tank. So it would pay for itself after roughly 15 fill ups.

Price is now $49.99 not $40.

I commute my tacoma so Im pretty light on the pedal and try to manage my mpg and monitor my rpm and fuel consumption to collect.

Anyone that has used this product actually have some approved mpg increase and what not?

    Thanks

I ordered for the Tacoma and the wife's BRZ. Confirm coupon code no longer works, small enough price to worry about.
I have followed this closely, did outside research, I think this is good value.
    PM'd Quirt, very helpful, friendly.
Seems like a decent result for small investment.
    I will update, after installed.

It's always said that you can't simultaneously improve fuel economy and performance by changing the air flow. Don't air and power go hand in hand meaning less air=less power but more mpg? How are we seeing more power and mpg at the same time? I would expect a tradeoff.
Sorry, it seems like I'm the only one here not wrapping my head around it.
What about the engine wear? is it enough to shorten the life of the engine?
