Are you talking about the bolts and wing nuts or about the hi-lift? I keep the hi-lift well lubed so the mechanism never rusts.

The jack is mounted that way all the time from late spring thru late fall. The rest of the year I take off the RTT and bed rack and run a canopy.

Not really, drill a hole and tap it, take all of 5 or 10 min. You could also buy a drill/tap and do both in the time it takes to drill two holes.

For tapping, get some cutting oil. It lubes, cools, and makes the tapping process go a lot smoother.

Also, you don't really need to get a complete set of taps. From Home Depot or Lowes, you can get a small package that has one tap, and appropriate size drill to eliminate the guess work, if you've never done drilling/tapping before. The tap size will tell you what size bolt to get to attach the holder to the bumper. Actually you should decide what bolt size is right for your application, then get the drill/tap set to match.

    This.

For your application 10/32 or 10/24 would be plenty, 1/4-20 would be more then enough and tend to be more forgiving.

    That fixed it, thx.
I had pulled that 15amp fuse and used it for the "acc" fuse that was burnt in the cabin fuse block. So that slot was empty in the eng comp block.
Picked up a spare 15amp and dropped it in the dome slot and everything works.
    Thx again.

Self tappers made easy work of installing mine. This was into a tube bumper but I can't see it being much different. Also I have the same mount and it does stick out a little still. I am considering making a mount to the tail gate because I originally messed it up when I used whatever clearance I had on a climb and then again when I tend to use my bumper as a ram.

Mine also hits my tailgate if it gets bent up. Right now I have it so it just comes to the bottom of my hitch receiver but I am sure I will probably smash it up more.

Found a NOS AC button to replace mine that was stuck on. Only had the truck for a little over a week now. Trying to knock out small maintenance issues before I move into upgrades :)

I used wing nuts, then hi lift, then large rubber isolaters (thick washers) from my tie rod ends for my sway bar. Hasn't moved at all.
Here's a close pic, I just used the PVC because I'm lazy and don't want to screw the wing nut that far every time I need it.
