It doesn't matter how big it is, you will still not have enough room. Mine is 8' long and too crowded.

I have my Texas CHL and carried incognito for about a year as our handbook said nothing about firearms on premise. A coworker, the CEO's nephew heard me clank going up a metal ladder one day. He asked me, are you packing? Yes but you are not supposed to know that. A few days later the entire office knew I was packing. At first the CEO told me to take it off my ankle and go put it in my truck. 2 hours later he knocked on my cube and told me he had searched the handbook and there was nothing in it about firearms on premise, go get it and put it back on. I did and packed for another year or so until the "new" handbook came out. The Office Manager is anti-gun so now the handbook included all sorts of crap about firearms on premise and it even went so far as to say unless you had your CHL they can't even be in the parking lot in your car. I called BS on that one as any one in Texas who is not a felon can pack in their car, anywhere at any time, period. I had to sign that handbook but I added a statement that there were false rules in the handbook pertaining to handguns. They accepted that but I still had to disarm to keep my job. To this day any other CHL person can pack in our building but not the employees as they do NOT have the proper door signage stating not to. I told them I wasn't mad about all of that, just very disappointed and that I hope that their decision was not a bad one and that I hope it is never actually needed. It almost came needed this year already when a disgruntled on drugs spouse was harassing an employee. :(

Yep, sure is. Complete A4 rifle from RRA. I couldn't go the meat grinder butt plate though so I got the Mako GL-Shock stock for it. Absorbs the recoil a lot and gives the rifle a different feel, sort of a delayed push back now instead of one large kick in the shoulder as before with meat grinding ability. I actually had bruises on my shoulder after I shot that A2 stock. I liked the A2 stock but no one makes a replacement rubber butt plate for it. The Mako stock is "very" well made of some very good material.

My company doesn't have a policy (as of yet) against guns but I work in a building that doesn't allow them. Truth be told I have had it on several occasions but I have to be very careful

Well. I build a few hundred of these a year for customers all over the nation. They sell 10:1 compared to the 5.56 I build. It is a phenomenal hunting round in a light compact rifle that is absolutely devastating to pigs, deer, coyotes and have also taken elk and bear very successfully at a limited range. It is my go to rifle now for anything other than just range work. For my purposes there is no better setup.

Nice, I hope I don't kick myself in the ass for building the Grendel instead. The new 6.8 bullet scared me didn't know what availability would be like on it.

Hugely available round. It hit a short lull for awhile. It all depends what you want to do with your rifle. If it's hunt then the 6.8 is the way to go since the manufacturers behind the 6.8 bullets are Barnes with their TSX and TTSX, nosler with the accubonds and their new e-tip, , hornady SST and VMAX, federal with their fusion line. Btw the 90gr gold dot is a better round then the standard fusion line.

It's fairly available in my area, Academy sports carries the Federal MSR ammo, along with the Remington UMC and Core lokt ammo.

I chose 6.8 SPC because .300 BLK wasn't available in my area (Academy is the only place I'm aware of that carries .300 BLK now).

95Taco those are the worst performing 6.8 rounds out there but lesser expensive. The Remington ammo is all under powered. We actually recommend not firing the Remington ammo in our uppers as our uppers are tuned for the less anemic ammo out there. My favorite go to ammo is the hornady and favorite hunting ammo to load are the Barnes 95TTSX.

You can buy the hornady 120SST ammo online for about 12.99 a box from LAX ammo or Selway. Also the 90gr Gold Dot is ready available from Palmetto State and the Sellior and Bellot is a good plinking round that's reasonably priced and getting cheaper. Give them a try.

Thanks for the info, I have 2 boxes of the UMC (Bought just for plinking/function check), 1 box of the federal MSR, and a couple boxes of Silver State Armory ammo.

I'l have to check out the hornady SST and Gold Dot.

No problem ive killed a lot of animals with the 6.8 and have been fortunate enough to be involved with the development and testing of new 6.8 product before manufacturers take it to market.

Our normal bullet is 300 grains, that is 3/4 ounce of weight, ie. 20 gauge. Our 405 grain bullets, that is a full ounce of weight, ie. 12 gauge! I'll post some recoil videos here tonight, definitely moves the shoulder. We counted up the .458" diameter bullets that are used for the 458 Socom, here is where the 458 SC shines; there are over 80 something bullets in 458 " diameter. Not all are used for the 458 SC as they are designed to open at higher velocities but they could be used if needed.
