Just got my stage 3 delivered yesterday. Yotadan is the man! Packaged it up with dakars and a few other accessories as well. Really looking forward to installing it this weekend. Anyone have any tips for ther install? I read one write up that mentioned the battery needs to be removed. I read other write ups that don't mention anything about the battery. Does it need to come out?

I did not have to remove my battery, however there is a wiring clamp underneath the battery (10mm) that I did remove while installing the UCA's. The best I can say about the install is take your time. It is all pretty straight forward, just time consuming . I did have to drill a hole for the rear reservoir mounts which I wasn't expecting. But over all it was fairly easy. I had a friend helping me out which definitely helped while bolting in the coilovers, springs etc. I did it all in one day but it was a long day for sure.

    +2 for YotaDan

Nitto Trail Graps $311 each on AMAZON....The kicker for me was free shipping to AK through amazon Prime, It saved me $800 on shipping alone!!! :D
The wheels I have coming from Les Schwab, they were $202 each. To save some more money on shipping I am having them put on the barge. Barge=$60, Air Cargo $260. As much as it kills me waiting, the savings of $200 for a few extra days is worth it. I hope to have the wheels by Wednesday if all goes well.

Thats very similar to my set up. I have 285/70r17 trail grapplers on 17x9 fuel wheels.

Any rubbing? Still have the flaps on? Any mods to do it?

I currently have bilstein 5100's set at 2.5" of lift and stock uca's. I had to remove flaps and trim fender flares but do not rub with everyday driving. I haven't had it off road with the new tires yet. I have OME nitrocharger sports with OME887 springs and camburg ball joint uca's just havent had a chance to install them yet. I think that will change the fit some because the 887's will give me more lift but the added caster of the camburg arms will have the tire farther back in the wheel well which will probably cause me to have to do a cab mount chop.

Fitting the 285/70/17 tire with minimal trimming / cutting is best on a 8" wide wheel with 5" back space with a lift height of 2.75" - 3". This usually gets it done.

This is 285/70R17 on 17x9 with 4.5" backspace and 2.5" lift. Minor trimming on fender flares.

Can you recommend a couple of 17 inch wheels in black or other colors? And what do you consider minimal trimming

It looks like 2.7-3.0 on the CASTER is the best placement to limit rubbing. I know that mostly comes from the UNIball guys but I would imagine it is the same for the ball joint UCA's as well. can anyone confirm or deny that?

Well installed the 3degree axle shims this weekend. Truck is a lot smoother throughout the range now except for the 35-40 mph vibe. It is looking more and more like I am going to have to tear down the front end and replace my needle bearing with the bushing from ECGS. UGH!!!

I noticed on my new uninstalled Icon 3 leaf leaf pack. The pin doesn't come out of them, does your centering pin come out of your Wheelers leaf pack? Trying to figure which 3 degree shims to get.

Did your leaf pack pin come out? Mine does not, do you have a link to the shims you used?

Just installed Icon/Camburg BJ up front. My caster was set to 1.7. I had to take off those little air dams up front but no rubbing now. They may rub a little on the trail in certain situations but as far as alignment goes... best compromise b/t caster and clearance that you're going to get I think.

I hope to do this myself soon. I haven't decided on the rear springs tho.

Do you need extended brake lines with this setup at 2 or 3 inches of lift?

Also you might want to go under your truck a few days early and spray all the suspension nuts and bolts with WD40 or something in case some of them are frozen.
