    Relocated my CB antenna using the BAMF Tailgate bracket and now it works much better. I got an SWR of 1 on channel 1 and 1.5 on channel 40.

    It is now. I grounded the mount since I took the pic. At first I wanted to hold out (until my SWR meter arrives) to see if the aluminum will provide ground conductivity. I got bored, so I ran to Lowe's, got some wire, and slapped it on. It was highly likely I'd need to do it anyway.

    The BAMF Tailgate bracket dosent need one. The same bolts that hold it to the truck also ground it out, even through the powdercoat

    I wouldn't say 100% through powdercoat. I have the BAMF mount and I shaved a little bit of paint off around the holes to get a better ground.

    ah. i mounted mine without doing anything to the powdercoat and its working fine, 1.2 on one and 1.7 on 40

    Gotcha. I'm getting 1.1/1.2. Could just be the tuning of the antenna. I guess you wouldn't need to do anything if you had a non ground plane wire.
