Is it just me or is the quality and knowledge at dealerships circling the drain?

Took the alloy wheels I bought last summer in to buy lug nuts for em as I have steelies stock which use different lugs. Well apparently there are two lengths of lugs for alloys and no one at two different dealerships knew which to use asked a tech and they didn't know either. Noobsauces.

I'd say the other way. The product is way more complicated then it ever was in the past. The last 10 years of vehicles have really seen huge jumps in technology that the average technician couldn't even keep up with. The days are leaving quick that a person without formal training at a college level will make it as a technician. There are many old dogs here that are quickly becoming used car technicians or going independant because they can't cut it as a line technician, they can't diagnose.

Did you try Groove Toyota parts guys? They are more then just keyboard punchers.

By the way, any alloy lug lenght will work for you. You would want the short one for the TRD wheel as the long would stick out a little, if that look bothered you. The shank lenght is the same. You could even get early 90s Camry alloy lug nuts if you wanted, or the early 90s truck/4runner (those are black).

I might be interested, I did look into the radio he linked. I don't know enough about them to know what to compare.

You can't go wrong with the uv5r no matter the model. It's what almost everyone is starting out with

do they use repeaters or something so you can talk across longer distances?
Like can we all talk to each other from different parts of the state or is it still short distance line of sight?

If he had a license he could have responded on the repeater today.. but on simplex it is required to be closer

I might go out there in April with my dirtbike. If not I will most likely be bringing it to rock therapy. Younger Bret and I have been talking about it.

I'll be bringing my dirt bike......it just doesn't have a motor and people usually refer to it as a mountain bike.
