My Flippac has heaps of "bulb seal" between it and the bare bed rails. A drop or two gets in from time to time but other than that it stays very dry. Those adapter plates definitely look pretty cool, but I wouldn't deem them a necessity.

I figured I would post up some pics of my new tent in here as well. Apologies to those that frequent the same threads I do and have seen them before :). I am excited to get some more winter adventures in now :D.

Does anyone have experience with the luxury-lite cots in here?

DoorDing, that REI cot looks unbelievably comfortable. I might just have to "Settle" for that haha. I was interested in the luxury-lite because of the weight. I could pack it in on the shorter trips but the ground isn't so bad :D.

I do not, but the design doesn't seem all that great. Having spent years of my life sleeping on a Military cot, we opted for Slumberjack cots as they are a similar design, but they are a little bigger and more comfortable. I think I sleep better on them than a normal bed. The reason I like a cot with legs is it gets you out of the muck/snow/wet grass and it also gives you someplace dry to sit and get dressed. Nothing worse than wet socks first thing in the morning. Obviously not the best solution for backpacking, but I don't think you'll be packing that stove and tee pee too far from the pickup anyhow.

The tipi and stove together weigh around 6-7lbs so Ill be packing it in for my adventures. It winter I have a sled I pull...just isn't working so well this winter with the lack of snow :(. This weekend Ill be going 5 -8 miles with it on my back. Maybe more depending on how the weather and river is.

Not that this isn't a great idea, but i do have a way to improve it.

when i was looking at doing it, instead of having the handle bars like you have, i turned them, so they were parallel with the frame.

Seemed to work better and look better..i never got around to making mounts though, don't bike enough anyways.

    Thanks
I've seen water come from that area. When the weather warms up I'm going to hose it down and see what leaks I can find.
Didn't see that post, but thanks anyways

Yah turning the bars sideways does give it a slimmer profile. I'm just worried it won't be nearly as stable. With the fork perpendicular to the bike frame it won't tip over. Unless you secure the bike frame/back wheel to the bed rack I could see it flopping over when you're driving down a rough road. I think 45º might be a good compromise though.

Ideally I'd like to keep the front wheel on the bike. But a fork mount is just easier to work with.

Thought I'd add this here too :D
    [IMG]

Went with a dual battery set up because of all the electronics onboard. Some of them that require the most juice:

    winch
    fridge
    in-cab inverter
    OBA compressor
    audio amp
    all the lights (HIDs/LEDs)

Also did the Big 4 upgrade and went with a 250A alternator

Looks like Blue Sea ML-ACR (mounted just to left of auxiliary fuse block).

Clean looking setup! I've got the same module sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed. Gotta clear out some space under the hood first though -- gonna nix the ABS pump to make room.

Yea I was going to strap the back tire down and straps the frame as it goes right by one of my bed rack bars.

Did you use a power steering relocation kit or fab up something your self?
I have my 2nd battery in passenger side by firewall but like it up front like your set up.

    Yeah Blue Sea ML-ACR

    Excellent unit as well

I bought two new hoses (2 diff sizes). I just brought the reservoir to O'Reillys and they gave me the hoses that fit. I think I used about 30" of each hose. The rest is just bolts

I've been dreaming up relocation projects to stuff a second battery under my hood as well but is there any downside to skipping a battery management system? (Aside from it not being idiot proof allowing you to run down your own battery below starting level)
I've wired several of our work trucks with dual batteries and just hooked them up in parallel and fixed the frequent dead batteries while we're parked running inverters for stuff.
I've also seen very fancy and expensive meters etc to isolate them but never really saw the benefit.. Anyone care to educate me?
