Haha yessir! I almost lost an arm the other night when I was offered the bag of caramel popcorn she'd been munching on, I casually grabbed the bag, noticing a little resistance from receiving the entire bag...looked over to the face of death and realized my error.

I wouldn't want an auto in a 1st gen, but I don't mind my auto in my 2nd gen. The 5 spd auto has pretty similarly gear ratios to the 1st gen 5 sdp manual. I haven't really noticed any gear hunting issues with mine, but I'm running 4.88's with 33's so I'm always at a higher RPM. Only complaint I have is when I am in the dunes it takes too long to drop back into 1st gear if I need it. 3rd to 2nd is fine but 2nd to 1st waits about 1000 rpm too long... If I was boosted I'd be fine but my N/A motor doesn't make enough power are 3000 rpm to keep a hill climb in the sand going...

Modern AT's are pretty good (especially in stop and go traffic), don't get me wrong on that. But I would have liked to have the choice. I grew up on them and my last car was a MT.

Good luck. Nearly as much BS in this thread as Monte's. Well. Maybe not nearly. But a lot.

I hated them. Great in the sand and good in hard pack. Sucked for everything else. I'll never buy them again.

Finally did a battery relocation. Core support and driver's side apron is bent to shit. Moved it to the bed under my toolbox on the passenger side.
    2 gauge wire for everything.
Ballistic Fabrication battery box for the group 35 Die Hard Platinum
    Blue Sea circuit breaker
Stud in factory battery location to retain all the factory wiring.

Kill switch is pointless IMO if you are installing a breaker. The breaker should be located as close to the battery as possible before going through any sheetmetal. You can just click the breaker to disconnect it and kill power.

The ruffstuff box is good. Don't regret it. I only got the Ballistic one because it was the only one I could find that fits the group 35.

Also, I built some sammich plates between the sheet metal out of 12 gague to help distribute the weight in the bed better than just the box itself.
