yeah, I called Aloha Toppers and was quoted $2195 for a Leer 100R. they have a coupon that ends tomorrow for:
- free carpet headliner
OR
- free removable front window - one piece (solid) or 3 piece (sliding)

so question for you guys with shells: do you have a carpet headliner? if not, is the inside of the shell semi-smooth/smooth? my only thing is that if I go camp and my 2.5 yr old is in the back, I don't want her get scratched up by the rough surface of the uncovered shell.

I'm wouldn't be planning on getting the carpet bed liner, so just wondering if the headliner would make sense (i.e. get the free removable window instead).

congrats! I have a Snugtop supersport with fold down sliding glass and Bedrug. I was put in the same boat as you about a year ago and have no regrets. I pitched the idea to my wife either get a shell or buy and van. lol she said "im not driving no van".
Only thing about AlohaToppers is that the wait time for the shell from time of purchased is about 3 months

 

I can get my buddy at Ron's to mount assemble the strut and spring no problem.

 

Past by a guy with a CVT roof top tent off the Pali today. I know there's not many places here I would be able to use it but I want one.

I always go to Al's. Expensive, but worth it. Ceramic windshield makes a big difference. He is my friend, and I still pay big money

 

I got quoted 180 to do my windshield with the clear from tnt try ask midnight tinting by ward he has good prices

they tend to stay on xr-underground...the last meet where we were both at, someone said we don't play well with others

Are trucks generally cheaper on the islands? I am looking at some tacom as on Craigslist and thw prices are way better than central and northern California... I will be there for the summer and am planning on buying a vehicle! Any big issue with hawaii cars? Rust?

 

depends...but honestly trucks on hawaii are $$$$ esp toyotas. rust yes, and ppl still ask 5-10gs even with "minor rust" lol.
