    That's not a fair arguement....

CV joints are susceptable to breaking when you turn too tightly and force (drive) torque to them. That's not any different than being in 4WD unlocked.

Jeeps run u-joints and they can blow out just as easy (or easier) than CV joints.

The only issues that CV joints have that U-joints don't have - is the 'angle' of the axles shafts due to lifting = more stress.

Doesn't matter what you run with - CV's or U-joints.... you have to be careful making tight turns even more so when you're locked. If you feel resistance - DON'T FORCE IT.

ARB gets my vote...I installed two of them in my 99 Wrangler front was in a Dana 44 axle and rear was a Dana 60, loved both of them, there was nothing sweeter then the sound of my compressor going on and watching the look on the owner of a full size dodge as this "little" jeep pulled him out of a ditch :)

That's pretty much it in a nutshell... (or lunchbox, if I may). A lunchbox type locker is self contained and self actuating. It requires no modification to the components of the diff.

The downside, is that you need to learn to drive "around" the locker. They have varying degrees of street "manners" and will sometimes chirp your tires a bit if you surprise them with a corner.

In the dirt and rocks, you are moving slowly and have enough tire slippage, so yes. On the trail it's all business. The first time you hit a corner too fast on road with a lunchbox locker, you will remember it :) After that, you will be prepared for it.
