Hello TW. I just got into the taco club with my newish 04 DC TRD. I really like it and think I got a decent deal. It has 136k on it, perfect interior(came with new floormats in a box), exterior is in pretty good shape just has some clear coat bubbles from paint repair after a minor fender bender. I got it $9900,...good deal?......I already installed a billet grill, bike pad on the tailgate and found some of the Enkei 20s from the newer TSP (I think, that's the model). They do rub just a bit at full lock. Should I trim the plastic off or use wheel spacers or the spacer leveling kit?

I know from searching the site that I'm probably gonna get trashed on for the 20s but it's a street only truck and it looks soooo good. Lemme know what you guys think...[IMG][/IMG]

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Nice! I'd say you got a good deal with the mileage, most DC with that mileage range are fetching 12 to 13k around here. I picked up my 04 with 75k miles for 14k out the door, but the dealership it came from didn't really know what it was and I kept my mouth shut until the paperwork was signed over to me and it was in my name and a done deal, haha.

No its not 4x4. That's why I say street only. I have something else for the dirt.

Looks to be a nice truck, fair price for 2wd, not a fan of the wheels, but not my truck so that does not matter

Yes, I already knew that there would be alot of people hating on the rims. Of course I searched the site for similar trucks and found that if it's not 4x4 and lifted everyone thinks the owner should die. I guess I shouldn't have asked what everyone thinks, that's my fault.

Truck looks good man. Love the red. Not many people are gonna like the wheels (including myself), but like some have said, its your truck and that's all that matters

Wow I been on this forum for years and read hundreds if not thousands of post and never got the feeling someone should die because their truck was not 4x4 or lifted, ask for opinions, you gonna get them, just do not expect everyone to agree with you, as far as 20" wheels, 2wd,or non lifted tacoma, you will find many members with 2wd and many members with/without lifts. Now as far as 20" wheels on a tacoma, they are far and few between on this forum!

Sorry I might be overly defensive, I searched for what people were doing to stop the rubbing with 20s and I didn't find the answer because all the replies were trashing the rims. Which is weird because these are stock tacoma wheels.....Is there a order to the process of stopping the rubbing? Cut first or spacer first? Or leveling kit first? I don't want to lift it really, then I'd want meaty tires. I'm a noob to customized trucks. I've always done other toys.

What rims are you referring to as being stock rims, there is no such thing as a stock 20" rim in a first generation tacoma. I interpret your previous post to claim those 20" wheels are stock tacoma wheels, if so they are not for first generation, factory or not that is your problem. The biggest wheel sold for on on first gen tacomas was a 16" wheel.

You're right, they're from a 2nd gen. Guy had a 07. I think he said it was a TSP OR something....my truck needed tires, these tires and rims were 500 so I jumped on it.

I think(actually positive)those wheels are not factory 2nd generation wheels either, if you want to really get bashed on here, start a thread claiming they are and see what kind of response you get. If they are factory, I believe you may have the only set in existence.

Well, it looks like you just want to bash on them and me anyway. Did you do a search for them. I did and found a whole bunch on this site. They are Toyota Factory Enkei WT4 wheels, they came on the XSP version for a couple years then they changed to chrome but still 20". I bought them off this site from a guy that bought a stock tacoma with them on it.

Does anyone else feel like helping a new Tacoma owner out and telling me where I start with this rubbing?

It looks like they only came in the XSP package in the Southeastern part of the country. So they might not be in your area but I promise they're not the only ones in existence.
