Just wondering if any fellow Canadians are able to purchase a dcsb in the OR version? Until now this trim was only available in the us.

By the looks, the Off road version is just for the access cab.

I'm waiting for delivery of a (Manual) dcsb, but its labelled as TRD Sport not Off road.

I did look around, thought I had a Trail Teams, but it was sold. I got the exact Tacoma I wanted, I waited for a manual TRD Double cab... adding the cat back exhaust, tonneau cover in Black.

Curious what the OR version has that interests you most.

No idea beyond different market conditions

To import a vehicle into Canada it needs a minimum amount of km's on the dial so it can't be new. You need to do a bunch of paperwork (registration, importation documents and insurance) to bring the vehicle across the border and pay the GST on the vehicle at the border. The truck then has to pass an inspection at a licensed facility after you change out the speedometer and install always on daytime running lights.

It's a pain in the arse, but when our dollar is high it pays off.

    Available in all models:
4WD Part Time, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Auto Limited Slip Rear Differential, 2-Speed Transfer Case, Automatic Disconnecting Differential, One-Touch 4WD, Engine Undercover

    Access Cab (V6 only)
Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), Rear Differential Lock, Fuel Tank & Transfer Case Protector Plates, DAC (Downhill Assist Control) (Automatic Only), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) (Automatic Only)

I am not mechanically inclines or experienced in off road, help with the term "Active - Trac" vs Traction control "Trac" ... I presume this is what you speak of.

TRAC , and a locker and ATRAC are two different things

I want an auto double cab with only the 5' box. The only thing close is a trd sport with a 6spd. The OR looks the best IMO

A-trac and a locker are also nice to have but could be met or exceeded with aftermarket options.

I was told the auto had to have the 6' box to accommodate the transmission by the guy who acquires the vehicles for the dealership.

I just saw mine for the first time today.... I'll should get it Friday in two days. I test drove the auto, but the longer box wouldn't fit in my garage... or I might have taken that Trail teams.

You don't have to change the speedo.
There are actually companies that will arrange everything for you (for a fee, of course) which aren't a bad deal but with the exchange rate like it is today importing wouldn't be a wise financial decision.

Actually you do. The vehicle, unless it is over 20 years old, must display it's mileage in kilometers to pass inspection. A lot of my customers buy BMW's and other toys from the USA. Those companies are good if they have experience and you know someone who has used them before personally.

Most American vehicles have kms in the inside of analog clusters, like my US truck in Canada and the 2nd gen clusters. 99% of digital clusters can be changed to miles or kms like on my bike or my buddy's jeep.

Of all the imported american vehicles I saw while working at toyota never once was the cluster changed. Not to mention the hundreds of Harley's imported every year to local used bike dealers.
