I've been missing out on this great camping weather.
My truck is in a decent reliable condition to go out and enjoy it.
My next project will be my grandfathers 79 bronco rebuild. :D

Thinking of talking to a recruiter for the coast guard reserves, What should I be asking?

Also I'm within the age limit however i'm kinda fluffy around the edges so I will need to trim some of that off before it gets serious.

No health issues or criminal history, so thats fine.

Took my kids up Nate Harrison Grade to Palomar Mtn to get into some snow yesterday. The Palomar Mtn State Park was closed when you get almost all the way up. Things got a little dicey up top with about 6-8" of snow on top of the muddy road with 2wd:rolleyes:

depends what rate you wanna go..and would you be okay with being deployed?

call up the recruiters down in pointloma and ask what reserve opportunities they have and you might get lucky and find out they have some open billets in SD or LA/LB.

also you go to the same 8 week bootcamp as any active duty enlisted man/woman does.

    any questions let me know!

Awesome thanks, I was going to set up a time to meet with them in a few weeks, I have an umbilical hernia i need to get sorted before I do any kid of boot camp.

I dont really care on the rate of pay and being deployed is what it is, As long as I can find a job in SD I like im down.

Fluffy isn't really an issue as long as you can still do your thing. I would just start running to get some wind and get used to running everywhere.

By rate I mean the job you decide to choose, we'll more like what's available ahaha depending on college credits everyone out of bootcamp graduates as an E-2 or E-3, then after getting all your E-4 sign offs and taking your EPME and graduating A-School you become a petty officer.

The reservists I went to boot camp with went straight to A-school after basic training.

Normally as a reservist in SD you would be attached to the small boat station or the Aton unit. In LA/LB you'd most likely be attached to the PSU (port security unit) which deploys or their small boat station. The main rates of these units consist of BM boatswains mate ,MK machinery technician, ME maritime enforcement specialist, and the support rates of SK store keeper ,FS food service specialist. Any questions about the jobs at these units just let me know, I'll tell you what the recruiter doesn't ahaha

I have a spare brand new front cat for 5vz 50 state legal magnaflow cat in my garage if anyone is interested.

It's the wrong engine family for my truck and the company I bought it from wouldn't take it back.

I can get more info off of it later.

Quick question about Glamis, planning on leaving early Thursday morning and heading out there. Don't have a whip but planning on buying a small flag and throwing it on my race radio antenna that sits on my roof. Also anyone know where to get passes for cheaper than at glamis. I believe it's $50 for a week but I'm only going for Thursday and Friday. I know online you can get them for $35 but I'll be leaving before it gets here in the mail. Thanks
